What we actually were discussing here is whether Aaron Black could be a Gilas prospect or not. I don't give a damn whether Aaron's PBA career is a product of nepotism (As you see it) or not. What is important to me is whether Aaron Black could be serviceable to Gilas or not.
If you try to backread I even stated the players that can be Black's competition for
the guard duties for Gilas in the next 5-6 years. I did try to redirect the topic to THAT di ba? and yet

Its the act of using power or influence to get good jobs or unfair advantages for members of your own family which Aaron clearly got. Now if he has proven that he's good enough for the PBA then good for him but NOT BEFORE getting into Meralco 1st and having provided the leeway to improve. If he started with another team, had time to develop and traded to his Dad's team then sure but Norman made sure he was drafted and was given opportunities that may not have been given if he wasn't with Meralco.
Again I like the game of Aaron i wish we could swap him for LA Tenorio lol or we could've gotten him over Pinto but obviously Norman wouldnt allow something like that.
It's like having a rich father and getting you "employed" in his company and lets you start off as a staff to one of the depts to learn the INs and Outs (earning his spots) and after a year makes you a VP for Operations and part of the Board. And clearly these kids are good because they're mostly US educated etc.
Noone's saying he's not a good player NOW its the unfair advantages he had.
      But that's life lol
And while we're at it let's identify his competition for Gilas PG spot for the next 5-7 years:

Winston for sure if he's healthy he'll be on the Feb window and he's just 24.
Koon I assumed would be eligible by then and he's 21-22
considering Alec Stockton may be laughable now but he's 6'2 athletic and aggressive defensively (as the 12th man sure not as a starting PG for Gilas)
      Nonoy of DLSU
      JGDL of Lithuania lol
I think the ideal setup is to get the PG chores by committee wherein combo
guards will be alternating on these duties much like what Iskati,Perez,Dwight and Parks are doing now
See here? instead you skipped this part and made a comment strictly on the Nepotism part, so who's really veering away from the Gilas topic?

Bro, don't U realized that I have already replied to that post before you edited that post & add some things to it?
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

          • Here is my stand: If you don't posses the right stuff, no amount of favoritism or nepotism can save your ass in the PBA. I think both Dodot Jaworski & Manny Pacquiao know that.

My point is, you've dwelt too much on the nepotism thing instead of just recognizing that such a player is doing well in the PBA right now mainly becoz he has worked hard to improve his game.

Since we're back in Gilas topic, no doubt he should be in the pool but can he have better impact than Winston,Koon,JGDL,Nonoy in the next say 4-5 years? And why not Stockton, tirador pa toh before as I remember lol

Im not trying to belittle Black's inclusion i was merely stating that even a role player like Stockton may have a shot seeing what he may provide

My point was: Norman's acts of Nepotism has a precedent thus the added info for context

                              • Ryan Alba says Josh Coronel, James Nacua, and Seven Gagate impressed him in the last U18: https://twitter.com/_alba__/status/1...6QWt_5tiw&s=19

I hope these guys get a break in the senior team someday. Sakto for Nacua and Coronel, as Perez and Parks, their competition at 2/3, turn 30 next year, so the former two might get a shot soon, provided they develop well. Hope we don't waste them.

As for Seven, he might have a shot. Carl, Balti, Quiambao, and Malonzo are our only options at 4 after Japeth calls it quits, so Seven may have a chance.
