I'm privy witth his case , Koaume has 2 thing going against him.
    1. He got his citizenship / passport at late age (22 years old
    2. He does not have a bloodline relationship with a former citizen ( this is the meaning of bloodline it's not an enthicity connection, so if as an example of Clarkson has no official evidence that his parents or grand parent or 4th generation away has Filipino citizenship , his enthicity bloodline to being Malay or Filipino is meaningless.

Exactly Fotu got his passport like 17,
Has been a resident since a toddler
And his Tongan and English parents are permanent residents of NZ , ( kouame parents are not residents of the Philippines)

Obviously we also know all the African refugees in Australia have no entnicity bloodlines to Australia, but they have a bloodline to either an Australian naturalized citizen or permanent resident. (This is the legal definition of blood line connection, not enthicity)

i am aware. we, and some other posters, touched on this a few years back. but until now, i still see different understanding on this on different social media. i guess that is why the better term for it is having roots.Fotu has roots in NZ though not bloodline in its bare interpretation.
Tyler Tio is a different case but still touches on this. his parents were Filipinos who acquired Canadian citizenship when he was born. They did not reacquire Filipino citizenship and so Tyler had to be naturalized when he became 21yr old. but because he was born and raised in the Philippines, he has his roots there.he has roots and bloodline, but until exempted, he is technically naturalized.
maybe another recent case would be, Hardeman. he was born and raised in the Philippines. parents are American missionaries. if im not mistaken, he is 20yrs old. lets say, for sake of conversation, he gets naturalized next year on his 21st birthday. what is his chances of getting exempted? he has roots in the country.

        • Just to emphasize the point , It would be super stretch to say Clarkson has official roots to the Philippines . He having parents of similar common Pinoy entnicity does not matter . Unless one of them (even grand parents was either a citizen or permanent resident of the Philippines). This is the common misconception people have about what bloodline mean

The argument for Kouame (not saying it will work) is his adopted parents are Filipino citizen and residents.
At least that's a resembles some roots ..
And of course if they can argue he was a resident since a minor ..

          • Clarkson's mother was born in the country. What more roots in terms of roots do you need?

Yes that helps if confirmed, but there actually is no confirmation that any of his parents are former Philippine citizens.
The point is though his connection therefor is his mom was born in the Philippines, not that he has Filipino ethnicity blood which is different.

Alex Compton assuming he was born in Philippines on that note has actually more roots to than Clarkson

And his grandmother being a citizen, obviously a connection Compton doesnt have

Clarkson does not have a confirmed grand parent that is a citizen at time of mothers birth. But yeah that's a connection.

Anyway the point is whatever needs to amended if rules of change is required has to be the detail , such as accept if grand parent was a former citizen . Not an open ended the person has blood lines.
Having bloodlines has to have an explicit legal definition (whatever it is)

From a practical standpoint however, case for change is not happening.
Whatever the legal definition is and to what extent (e.g . Grand parent born in Country or citizen is up for debate ..there is no moral argument that the level is too strict or too lenient.

What are you talking about his grandmother is pure pinoy and born in the Philippines. Why wouldn't she be a citizen?

                      • Why the needless worry?

If fajardo is not well, there is the reinvigorated 7foot slaughter. He looked in good condition in japan. He will do well for ten minutes, as the aging aguilar himself has shown. Both old centers will impress in homecourt games, where pinoy fans generate the extra adrenaline and will to win. He certainly can rest kai in: physical games, foul-trouble situations, and against smaller but not quicker centers. As with fajardo, the solution is to pair slow centers like fajardo and slaughter with strong yet quick power forwards like edu (or philips of la salle) then force the enemy into a half-court game where our bigs can shield excellent penetrators like thompson and perez. Or choke opponent's ball movement with physical man-zone defense variants.

Look, spain hardly had fast centers. But their team's tenacity and focus on the game is shark-like, especially in the last quarter. They also dont give a f*ck about, and be bothered by, homecourt advantages.

This is why the mediocre offensive systems of the high priest of unano ball is far more worrisome. Technically sound fiba offensive and defensive systems usually cannot be harmed by slow but competent bigs. They are five-man systems, where either explosive guards or wings may do the heavy lifting.

We have enough big, explosive guards and wings. Good coaching and bare minimum 7 weeks of training together are far more important.

                          • BTW if Alex Campton some how was naturalized as a Filipino at 21 year old , given he was born and raised in the Philippines I would be super confident he would be exempted and eligible . This highlights the emphasis on what roots to a country are given priority to , and it's not entnicity.

SBP should have fought for Kirk Long but they did not. Now, it's time for SBP to fight for Hardeman.

Updated list for the SEA Games:

                                B.League: Heading, maybe Kobe
                                KBL: SJ, RJ, Abando
UAAP: Carl, Quiambao, Spencer, Kouame (NP), Chiu, Nelle, Winston, maybe Dave Ildefonso, maybe Anonuevo, maybe Lazaro, maybe Abadam
NCAA: Oczon, Valdez, Liwag, maybe Gozum
                                NBL: Kai
PBA: Scottie, Perez, Newsome, Japeth, June Mar, Navarro, Oftana, Malonzo, Pogoy (provisionally, based on last window's performance), Brownlee (NP), maybe Mamuyac, maybe Arvin
                                US NCAA: AJ Edu, Panopio
Youth: Harris, Konov, Gagate, Demisana, Mason Amos, Nacua, Coronel, Bahay

Get the core for the WC (in my opinion Kai, NP, Dwight, Carl, Malonzo, Japeth, Scottie, Parks), so that it will help their chemistry, then add a few younger players for the SEA Games. And I hope we keep solidifying our defense. We lost the last SEA Games with poor defense, now we should aim to win it with a far better defense.
