Mason is good on offense. Need to work on his defense.

Mason is good on offense. Need to work on his defense."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

PBA: Oftana, Erram, Scottie, CJ, Malonzo, Pogoy, Japeth
Non PBA : Kai, Ange, Parks, Dwight, Quiambao
I think It is a given that most of the time. PBA will at least composed half of the Final 12.
No issue as long as they choose the right PBA Players.
On the flip side. That will leave only 6 spots for our Foreign League Playing Players
NP is a lock. Kai is a lock. Healthy AJ is a lock.
So 3 spots left. I think Dwight and Parks will be in highly consideration.
That leaves 1 spot for a lot of our prospects.
Well, it's nice to have depth in case of injuries

The nt still needs two YOUNG seven footers as naturalized players. Edu, fajardo and even kouame had already bad injuries.
At the moment, i would suggest malick diouf to rotate with kouame. Very good team player, has excellent work ethic, and does not do stupid things on and off the court. Best of all, he is a pinoy budget player. The sbp certainly can afford his services. Getting good nba-experienced players is too expensive. Besides, as long as we dont field unanos, rebounding and scoring with the most industrious pba and college players will work out well.
We might also need a 6'9-6'10 np player as beast power forward. The ageless and competent aguilar will grow too old too someday.
Btw, this foolish myth that all nba players that can leap out of the barn, or score 40 points a game, are fiba-good must end. 90% of them probably dont have the ferocious work ethic, unbowed will to win, and great teammanship to win fiba championships.Last edited by ccharmed; 11-11-2022, 11:05 AM.

Im not a big fan of getting young NPs. For one their development will be hamstrung by the need to be available for all FIBA windows. Most top leagues ignore FIBA windows so I think its best to get someone already in their prime so they can at least stay here in the Philippines and not hamper their future potential as a basketball player.Last edited by Sikatrix; 11-11-2022, 02:16 PM.

No problem naturalizing players, my problem is paying them nba like contracts to play for us.. most asian teams even euro teams pay their nps just like their import per tournament basisTo becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

Ano, that Jordan win should be a sign that we should always have defense as the foundation for this and future iterations of the men's NT. Be physical, defend with our feet, foul as little as possible, make our opponents uncomfortable, give effort on that end.
Furthermore, we better find players that fit that style too. Right now, we have Scottie, Malonzo, Japeth, Dwight, Thirdy, CJ, Will, Oftana, and Ange (NP). Hopefully, we can find more players similar to them, talent-wise and physical tools wise.
