Yes no easy way out for the PBA. But thats the advantage KBL/BLeague/Taiwan bring. Not necessarily the salary cap part but definitely the direct hires. It really depends on the direction the PBA wants to go.

Baka nga mas mabuti yun. They let the league kill itself and let a new one emerge. I don't get how they have the guts to call out poaching (maybe only for the case of kiefer) for players that do really not play for them or don't have live contracts(lalo na when panlillo states the ateneo case). I don't get why pba and gilas see the exodus of players to more competitive leagues (yes olats na ang pba) is a problem for philippine basketball. They can have national team clauses, buyouts, etc to have compensation for their players leaving for foreign leagues. It's their problem to fix how to entice players to stay on, not penalize players. So set in their crooked ways these people are.

You need to realize salary cap is there to limit rich teams from overspending (like tenfold over the smaller teams)

Strictly reinforce salary caps but also increase it if possible/ limit under the table deals if also possible.

What you're suggesting only makes it
        a) easier for top teams to just get top players/rookies (no more lopsided trades needed)
        b) more freedom for rich teams to get loaded lineups from starters to bench warmers.

Direct hires can be feasible but they need to strictly reinforce salary cap or pba will just turn out like la liga or premier league for example (dominated by rich clubs i.e. oil giants)

Yeah but the alternative is being outbid for top talent . Really not easy for the PBA if they want to keep the best in house. Anyway, with a proper national program, the best pinoys wont be playing at home anyway but rather top leagues beyond asia.

That being said, Tab's word still doesn't absolve Chot from the Indonesia loss in the SEA Games.

After the Saudi game, and seeing a "home" crowd treat members of our national team with any level of non-support, and even disrespect, I knew I was just plain wrong to sit on the sidelines any longer.

he recommended chot for the situation wherein the MVP PBA team would mostly comprise the feb window. tamang logic naman, pero ginawang permanent eh. wrong timing lang lahat i guess given what he was going through and all. the jucier part of the interview comes tomorrow.

That's already happening anyway and they're turning a blind eye to them. Kill the farm teams and independent teams already. It's not like they're going to win anytime soon anyway

Yeah, I also thought that Chot should have been just on an interim basis. But then again, who are better options that can also get the better (though older) PBA players?

For the better PBA players part, most of the better PBA players who are FIBA-fit are 30 and above right now. The other good FIBA-fit players are outside.

Also its not like leagues like the BLeague have parity . In fact, parity is probably worse there.

I think disparity has been an issue pretty much everywhere, especially in Europe.

Just do away with trades and just be able to transfer players for cash, straight up, like in Europe (player swaps are less common). I think that's also the case in the KBL. The team receiving the cash might use it to better pay for players and even facilities.

The lopsided trades are killing public interest. It's better to be more transparent than appearing to be favoring certain teams.
