Although most of them came from different B.League, they have a walkthrough with how things are working under Hovasse and Lamas before that even a 2-3 weeks of preparation is enough. Another thing is Tom Hovasse is a fulltime coach - very different from Chot Reyes, who last sunday was coaching TNT then, the day after, was coaching Gilas.
I have no problem with full time coach. But what is his performance. Has Japan improved? If not, good for Japanese fans not over reacting to the losses like us

Hairboy lately under Tab is more disciplined and watching their game against the Israeli pros, his shot selection is much better and he shares the ball more lol.But who knows if goes back to Chot,if he might act like an addict on a relapse, hair all over his face, won't pass to the big man, dribble panic, shoots the ball whenever he feels like it,etc.

Yeah, that's the word - reps. Iskati needs reps just as PBA guys like Malonzo, Oftana, Adams, Newsome, others need more FIBA game reps so as to get used to the FIBA game atmosphere which is different from PBA game. These players need to get the feel of the FIBA game. That's why it is crucial that these players would be able to play for Gilas in the 5th & 6th windows for exposure. The thing is, the roles that these players would be doing with Gilas might be different from the roles that they play in their respective PBA teams, hence they need to adjust. And its a big adjustment actually.

Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Yes their youth is doing good but we talking about senior team. We lost to Japan with our Gilas being a more younger team against Japan pro with an NBA player, Naturalized and one NCAA. Thou NBa player got injured. Yet this team can't beat China. Isnt that a problem. If they can't beat China. Who will they beat in WC

They are 2 - 4 in Windows worst than PHL bit no one is making it a bigger issue like Nenad thinks we are doing here.
You are the one who brought up results in the first place. Stop giving false leads on the issue.

I pointed out Japan having good structure top to bottom a lot better than ours, can you really deny that? If you'll say otherwise then you're clearly stupid.

I already said despite the losses they still have a good structure, meaning a direction to improve. If your brain can't process that then there is no point talking with you.

Japan is losing to China and the other strong teams, yet they decimated us. So it just means they are facing better teams or they are not bringing their best team because they are already qualified and you saw someone like watanabe can play for them on the main tournaments.

I don't see a reason why they should be complaining when they are clearly better than us. You seriously think Japan can't beat up India and Saudi? The only teams we have beaten? lol even China destryoed Indonesia by some 50 points when Indonesia beat us haha

          • Japan is top heavy. Without Yuta or Rui, they arent special. With those two Id think they're the favorite for best asian team.

You the one that said, Japan beat us so your the one who brought up the result. Without analuzing we were a younger team and one PBA pro. While they have a Naturalized player, NBA player and B. League players. Should that make us underdogs

What structure, keep changing lineups every single windows for learning experience. But if we do it Pinoys go crazy stupid. Is that structure?

Compare China were thwy lost big so many times in this period. Yet we only loss to Lebanon on its hometown by 4. So who is better against top level competition.

                  his turnovers were eyesore.

but with more practice and exhibition games, he'll get better as a playmaker in gilas.

still, i prefer a sure fire shooter who is as good or even a better passer in bolick.

especially if chris and kiefer are ur other pgs.

The big 3 of Quinito, Snow and Homer.
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

Eh? Isn’t Quinito unpopular here and considered a PBA ass licker?

In so far as Gilas news/updates/developments/facts are concerned, Quinito Henson is good. In fact prior to the advent of internet, Quinito was already very resourceful in his info/facts about basketball players around the globe (in particular PBA imports). Quinito's downside is that his analysis or opinions are sometimes biased.

Henson is a good source for PH basketball news I follow him on twitter for that, but true he is biased towards the PBA and SBP

Enzo Flojo, he is a FIBA.com contributor. well connected and has some insider info but not based on tsismis unlike Homer and Snow. Ryan Alba a popular stats guy who offers analysis based on stats but oftentimes, his takes comes off as "My take is better than yours, because based on numbers". Same as his cohort Izeizeflo. Good takes most to the time, but these guys are reactionaries and really dont offer breaking news.

Noli Eala and Charles Tiu are good follows and very insightful.

Heoball is my go to guy for korea-bound / korea based hoops, not necessarilty Gials news, but good source of info for Pinoy K-Ballers
