  • FIBA has some value to the NBA but not enough for them to respect FIBA windows for example. If FIBA pushes too hard then theyll just take a massive L.

    • Two things, I think finances wise FIFA can almost match(?) the cash flow of every big Football team of this planet and second they had a strong political influence on all member countries that is why every FIFA windows all club teams need to release it's players to play for their respective country no ifs no buts otherwise they will regret many things..hmm..even the big bosses of the mafias is a big football fan baka magtampo pag hindi ni release mahirap na.

      • Exemption is a holy grail for us because we do have a lot of good Hagop ineligible players. But I wouldnt count the chicks before the eggs hatch. Remember Greg had uber residency and had his passport at 17 and yet he was only exempted at 30. He had what 12 to 13 yrs of residency? Newsome had what, 8-10 years? If Phillips, Ballungay resided here since they were eighteen then based on the shortest residency exempted they would be exempted by 26? Thats a long time of playing in PH. I guess PBA will be happy to get them. But if they go to Taiwan, then goodbye residency? In Ballungays case, KBL might also call.

Ballungay is half white so only Taiwan is the issue. I also think they need some time in the PBA before they get an exemption, at least for Lucero types. Maybe someone like Phillips who has been here earlier doesnt need the PBA.

Cartel Boss dwarfs Mafiosi Godfather. Pablo Escobar, a big soccer fan, and said to financed his favorite club, Nacional. He was the richest man on the planet at his peak. and he doesnt even have a offshore accounts, let alone a bank account. Everything is paid in cash in the Cartel.

In the early 90s, some of the Colombia Football NT players had ties with the cartel. They played with Escobar when he was imprisoned in his resort-like jail. In 1994 World Cup, after a Columbian player, Andres Escobar ( no relations to Pablo) scored an own goal and Colombia lost to USA, he was executed and murdered by a lesser drug boss for that, while shouting GOL! GOL!

Moral of the story "Don't mess up with the corleones, the Lannisters and the bang zai during FIFA window time because those filthy rich club owners can't bring their moolah underneath the yard if they've act as a bonehead otherwise those akatsukis of the shippuden world, the jason bourne and the james bond will react negatively..those tough guys are also a big football fan.

If SMC is the manager of SBP, would they be OK with Josh as the coach?

                        • Here's a post outlining the future of Gilas, and listing the prospects 24 and under: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?sto...00083314748679

                          Here's the list:

U16: Caelum, Konov, Competente, Mahmood, Bayla
U18: Mason, Gagate, Demisana, Pablo, Gamber, Nacua
Kai's Batang Gilas teammates: Tamayo, Panopio, AJ Edu, Dave Ildefonso, Chiu, Spencer, Cortez, Cariño
Other non-PBA players: Dwight, Kobe, Abando, Abarrientos, Belangel, Ange, Quiambao, Anonuevo, Gozum, Liwag, Lopez, Juan GDL

Pretty long list. After the WC, SBP should call on these guys, along with a few holdovers (who I reckon to be Oftana, Malonzo, Kiefer, Thirdy, Carl, Kai, and Dwight), to form a big pool to prepare for the WC, starting with the February 2024 FIBA Asia Cup qualifying window. Have them train for a long time leading up to that window, from December to February, just to lay the foundation and establish chemistry.

Let's face it. After the WC, we really need to rebuild the program, and this could be the start.

hehe there's a reason why Chavit used to own BB Pilipinas/ Miss Universe franchise. Sorry for the OT

Pineda needs to step up his game, he needs to think globally, and taking over Gilas is the key

SBP need to get Michael Phillips an exemption as soon as he finishes his La Salle career, and wait for FIBA's decision then. Same with Ballungay after he finishes his Ateneo career.
