If you considered that the Korean team was better than the one Tab faced, it was a blowout waiting to happen without Kouame. But Nenad made Geo Chi serviceable. And that was only one of the many things he did to make the PH team competitive against Korea 2x. SBP was probably dreading the team under Nenad defeating Lebanon. They have been nativist in coaching since firing Tab.

Vucinic, 57, resigned from his post as both an assistant coach for Gilas Pilipinas and as a consultant to Meralco early this month.
The Serbian-Kiwi tactician though made sure to finish his duties for Meralco in the Philippine Cup first before leaving.

This whole fiasco is really about the PBA trying to save its ass.

"Sources close to Vucinic said the Serbian-New Zealander wanted to help out in the Gilas program, but feels he isn't being involved enough to make a difference.
"He tried to help but is never used," said a source close to Vucinic, who coached Gilas in an interim capacity during the third window of the qualifiers."
Oh, my God, SBP.

Since PBA was allowed to send pros to International games, we only have these coaches to coach the NT featuring PBA players
Jaworski
Black
Cone
Chot
Yeng
Jong
Tab
Jacobs ( replaced by Jong when it mattered)
Fact of the matter is, outside of Tab and Jong, all the others were actively coaching since the dawn of Open Basketball (1989), so in 30 years, PHL hasnt really produced a younger NT coach (who started coaching 2000s) . Or at least wasnt given a chance to coach the NT. Maybe the next coach to join this circle is JR, but not because of merit.
If trend continues, for the next 4-5 years, the NT coach will be from the MVP teams except for Tab. So pick between Chot, Yeng and Black, and long shot is Jong and longer shot is Sandy. Unless they will try to pry away Godwyn from UP and Ayo from Converge, those 2 are probably the better coaches outside of the usual suspects to break the cycle.

Oh, my God, SBP.
This should be in a textbook as an example of how NOT to use protectionism.
