In spite of his basketball skills, Seo was never a fan favorite. Many fans criticized Seo for complaining to the referees too much, and Seo’s intimidating game face did not appeal either.

In the latter part of his career after his athletic abilities were severely compromised by injuries and age, people started bashing him for taking too many three-point shots and being a poor defender.
His schtick, was complaining in Knowing Bros, that they talked too much about his divorce and how many buildings he owns, this how they make fun of him. They always make him buy or promised the Kpop idols that he would have someone delliver buckets of Korean chicken to the idols dorms.Seo plays rough, and his favorite targets were the Chinese big men and some degree the Japanese, not much of a contact against the Gilas bigs.

    • 3 players being eyed for the pool of Naturalized players according to Quinito Henson

      https://www.philstar.com/sports/2022...zed-candidates

Three players were listed in Gilas’ pool but two were recently signed by NBA teams, raising doubts on their availability. First is 6-10, 248-pound Micah Potter of Ohio State and the University of Wisconsin. Second is 6-10, 257-pound Noah Vonleh of Indiana University. Third is 6-10, 231-pound D. J. Wilson of the University of Michigan. Wilson, 26, was inked to a contract by the Toronto Raptors last July 8 while Vonleh came to terms on a one-year agreement with the Boston Celtics last Aug. 2. If Wilson and Vonleh are cut before the NBA season opens, they could be available for Gilas.

Potter, 24, played three games on a 10-day contract with the Detroit Pistons last season. As a Wisconsin senior in 2020-21, he averaged 12.5 points and 5.9 rebounds in 31 games, including 20 starts. His four-year collegiate career stats included 7.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 49.6 field goal percentage, 38.1 three-point percentage and 79.4 free throw percentage.

Vonleh, 26, was a one-and-done standout at Indiana and played in seven NBA seasons with Charlotte, Portland, Chicago, New York, Minnesota, Denver and Brooklyn. He averaged 4.9 points and 5.1 rebounds, shooting 45.9 percent from the field, 30.8 percent from three and 69.1 percent from the line in 339 games, including 171 starts. Vonleh was Charlotte’s first round draft pick in 2014. Wilson, 26, wore the Michigan colors in 69 games, including 36 starts, over three years then suited up for Milwaukee, Houston and Toronto in five NBA seasons. He was the Bucks’ first round draft choice in 2017.

So they're looking at PFs? What an uninteresting crop of players. Scraping the bottom of the barrel e? La na budget? They aren't even Blatche level.. and honestly I won't be surprised if all of them are duds.

I would think we could do worse. Also these guys are centers in todays game.

Vonleh is serviceable I think. Kaso bat pa sila lumalayo, why not on a do it all PF in Terrence Jones? Since mahilig naman si Chot sa mga ganyang types. Give them the ball and got out of the way. lol

SBP again showing how out of touch they are.

I'd look at someone who could anchor the defense sana like Douthit did.

I only hope Vonleh and Wilson are good defenders and can anchor the defense. Potter's known more for being a stretch big.

Everything that SBP people should be saying must be taken with a grain of salt. That is why that news that Choke Reyes tried to resign but SBP restrained him from resigning most likely isn't true. One must be too ignorant or dumb to believe it.

I say Al Panlilio & other SBP people no longer have any credibility.

                    • If only the mindset of those old dudes from SBP are in a right places, they could consider Malik Diouf as one of the candidates as well..barely 22 yrs. old(?) they could also process his case for a "local" category before reaching the age of 27 or 28 same with AK34 because they've already satisfied that so-called "basketball immersion thing" as per FIBA.

I’m at the point where I’d rather take my chances at a Chua or SMC SBP leadership than trust Panlilio and the MVP group.

They are true examples of “heroes” who lived long enough to become the villains.

24-26 yrs old NPs? Shows you that SBP doesnt have the patience to develop players, we could have done a Indo or Malaysia path, naturalize Serbs or Africans that are 14-16 yrs old and develop them. Our basketball gods want results ASAP, that's why a young NP like Kouame, who's not yet developed, will never don a Gilas jersey until Chot, Cone and the rest of those PBA coaches are out of the picture.

They want PBA import type performance

I remember the Korean coach, in a interview, said that Filipinos play basketball with one leg

I won’t be surprised if this is the reason MVP is taking a backseat. He wants to focus on developing grassroots at Ateneo.

I think MVP will be more concerned about winning Championships for Ateneo than the grassroots element. If it was solely about development Kouame would be pro by now.
