Unless he will also do like Chot does now na pakapalan ng mukha... I don't think CTC can do multi tasking job...

It’s more practical as Cone can carry over the system in Ginebra to the NT without having to multi-task. It sort of worked in the 2019 SEA games but that tournament is peanuts compared to FIBA Asia.

It’s also possible Chito and another SMC coach will be part of the coaching staff. Perhaps they’ll be the ones to handle the team during qualification windows. This was the strategy back in the 2019 WCQ with the majority being PBA players + Blatche.

Strong likelihood we’ll have a new naturalized layer or two more post-WC now that SMC money is in the federation. One main NP + Brownlee/McCullogh as backup.

At the very least, I hope there's good defensive schemes for the team. Like I always say, what good is firepower when you're hemorrhaging points to the opponent?

The only thing Chot did right: Drop DDO
      Well, ayun.

After the WC, when we go back to zero, I hope we rebuild right in the leadup to the 2025 Asia Cup. Get plenty of players under 25, add a few Gilas vets, then drill them, especially in international-style defense. As for offense, whatever works, as long as we get an ORTG of 110+. Need coaches to be developed according to international systems too, as well as the development programs of countries like SoKor, Japan, something like that.

It's a dream, but it's a great one to have.

And I actually see Chito Victolero as a better fit than Cone internationally. His defensive system could be good enough. Physicality might be an issue, though.

Kang Dong Hee was nicknamed Wizard of the Court, no wonder he outwit those two GOATS of Phil basketball coz in reality it's difficult to defeat a wizard in the brain of J.K. Rowlings. hehehe.

Anyway back to regular programming, it really shows that we are several steps slower in developing internationally fit players that could create some ripple effects in our FIBA related tourney. Well except for Kai which I think hasn’t establish yet his own, with the way Yao, Hamed, Yi, Wang and Zhou has done as far as Asian Basketball are concern.

I'd advise caution as to veracity first, but if true, what the fuck?

                  • Nice SBP managed to fire the guy who single-handedly turned the program around 1 year before the World Cup.

Kang was good, he was deceptively fast, and very heady. Maybe the heavy set made his defenders think he was slow. I think Tim Cone didnt realize he can create so many opportunities with his dribble-drive and kick out. Johnny A and Olsen cant stop him from going where he wanted to go and he ate them.

                          • Oftana was late to basketball. His first sport was track and field.

He is self taught. He used drills he saw in youtube to develop his dribbling and shooting.

This reinforces my idea that cross training is more important for tall players to develop lateral speed and athleticism. Basketball skills can be developed as late as 17.

From a polarizing figure among korean basketball fans to one of the funniest guy in Korean Television hehe

In spite of his basketball skills, Seo was never a fan favorite. Many fans criticized Seo for complaining to the referees too much, and Seo’s intimidating game face did not appeal either.

In the latter part of his career after his athletic abilities were severely compromised by injuries and age, people started bashing him for taking too many three-point shots and being a poor defender.

                              • Newsome acquired his Philippine passport when he was 20 years old. Before Newsome flew here, the Fiba (International Basketball Federation) still did not require regular national team players to have passports of the country they want to represent at 16 years old

The Meralco guard, now 32, was simply a victim of bad timing. Fortunately, he will no longer have to endure that heartache.

Last month, the international cage body finally elected to recognize Newsome as a local owing to his decades-long residency in the Philippines.

                                https://sports.inquirer.net/472525/n...ilipinas-dream

As for Chris Newsome despite being considered only recently as a local after more than a decade playing here, it seems that we already had an idea if ever we seriously pushing for the likes of Barefield, Remy and Ron Jr. to be eligible as a local moving forward. Is it worth an investment for this kids? Or one of the best option to fastrack such eligibility is to include them on the ff. tourney like the 3x3 on a regular basis, on non FIBA tourney like the AG, Jones Cup and Dubai Pocket Tourney among others, now if the rumors are true that Sedrick, Remy and the Lane brothers are planning to join the next draft then I think it is possible that it may only take 6 to 8 yrs as a pre-requisite just to establish that basketball heritage thing for as long as they live in the country(during off- season in the states) on a consistent basis for that specific period..what do you think guys?
