they should. FIFA allows this practice as well.

the possiblity that Viet-Ams and Thai-Ams become local is increasing.

Fine with me as long as they don’t replace him with someone worse. Yeng, Joke, or Cone just to say the least.

While Lamb and Morgan can't be local because they already played as naturalized player before in one of Asia cup qualifiers for Thailand... They have also Antonio Price but i think he's not reside in Thailand for now, So it will not count.. Although if ABL will be revive again, Thailand team Mono Vampire should hire Antonio Price so that he will have his residency in Thailand while playing PRO ball there... And maybe Biboy Eugenio of Indonesia since he already playing in Indonesia's IBL since 2013....
            how about Freddy Goldstein?

Dierker, Young and Christian Juzang can be classified as locals. with these 3 plus either Jaylin Williams or Johnny Juzang, i believe that Vietnam will be a competitive team in FIBA.

            • I think it really depends on how early a player starts playing in a country although it would be great if playing in the PBA is enough for an exemption.

Until his handles and outside shot improve he's stuck at 3.

So If the guys like Lucero, Philipps bros and Balunggay want to play for Gilas in future, they have to stay here and play in the PBA to continue their residency until SBP grant their request as local player
Slaughter and Newsome both went to college here while Jawato either lived or vacationed in Bali often.

                    • What is clear consistent to the explicit guidelines # of years residency and domestic play is indeed used as a criteria for exception, what is also clear is entnicity is not a criteria whatsoever, of course relationship to parent citizen is an added point and age of residency and grant date of citizenship.

These principles are all consistent with common law of granting citizenship.. (trust me I know the area very well and have consulted with FIBA to confirm the rationale of their rules)

                      • As a flipside, it is increasingly unlikely that JC becomes local. With all these exemptions, I just don’t see no icing in the cake moment. I really see this as some sort of compromise. Pampalubag-loob.

He's listed at 6'4 in FIBA he SHOULD work to be a 2 really at that size

Maybe then we should work on Koaume's extension then if JC will be our NP. Worth a shot considering Koaume's been living here for so long.

                              • And reality is JC case already has an outcome decision.
The others don't. So in JC case it's an appeal to overturn decision which would be unprecedented
