At least yung China, Korea, Iran, Japan, Lebanon, etc., they could only beat us inside the basketball court, PBA on the other hand could mess up Gilas even before Gilas players step inside the playing court.PWE DE NA!!!

In an much as I'd like to have "pass-first" type of point guards in Gilas, I think a highly skilled PG like RJ Abarrientos is serviceable to Gilas. RJ is just too skilled & not to mention too gutsy a player to be ignored. I mean, how could you not admire the guts & confidence this kid has in his game? You can sense the confidence & composure he has in himself with the way he carries himself inside the playing court. Of course, he showed some immaturity & the over eagerness to score at times, but isn't that expected from a 21-year old first timer in the FIBA senior level competition?
I say, moving forward, as RJ gets more experience in high level basketball & playing under coach Tab's system, he'll learn to become more prudent & disciplined with his game.
I say this: yung immaturity ni RJ sa kanyang game is nowhere near to the "tactical" immaturity of most of our local coaches in the PBA"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

2014 FIBA World Cup - Tab as consultant for defense
PHI vs Cro - 78-81
PHI vs. Greece - 70-82
PHI vs. Argentina - 81-85
PHI vs. Puerto Rico - 73-77
PHI vs Sen - 81-79
2015 FIBA Asia Cup
Silver Medal
2016 FIBA OQT
PHI vs Fra - 84-93
PHI vs NZ - 80-89
2020 FIBA OQT
PHI vs. Serbia - 76-83
vs. world teams that is an average losing margin of 6 pts.. 6 FREAKING POINTS!!! well we still don't have the DR game but man.... I think we have the best "margin" amongst asian teams..

Magaling naman talaga mga pilipino sa basketball.
Sir Analyzed would disagree with me. But I think Gilas Players are always talented, just lacks system.
That's why Coach tab envisioned us to be top 15-10 in the world in the near future.
Kai will eventually get to his prime
Dwight is near his prime
Kouame is near his prime also.Though Clarkson may replace him in WC.
Balti and Tamayo transitioning to wings are in positive development

isama mo pa ang next batch of youngsters with Basti Reyes potential height of 6'9 and can be a Point Forward , and the Harpers 6'8 SG and SFs

So he's scratching the surface of his potential really.
Once he figures it out , it can be scary.
Remember he's way ahead of Castro , when Jason was still in college

Understand where I'm coming from when we're talking about individual talent , and how much high level players we have out there
Two of our productive players Dwight and Heading played in US colleges , the number of US Div 1 players from nations outside US who were playing ahead of the two(starter for mid major div1 ) are over a hundred easily .
Dominican Republic is just ranked 19 in the world, and I think some lower ranked Euro teams are even better than DR.
But DR individual talent level without question is ahead of any team in Asia . I mean all 5 positions
BTW NZ in terms.of individual talent is NOT a top 15 nation in the world in producing players
