"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Gilas with no naturalized player is garbage, Gilas with 100% homegrown lineup is a joke
No one in ASEAN is afraid of the PBA anymoreOriginally posted by Cocoy Martinwell TBH the Indons can say that the Phils is worse than them after all they beat Gilas in the SEA Games LOL
As for Indo themselves, I saw their shooting coming into that game, but there were no defensive substitutions or adjustments from Chot. Kept going to offense (Troy, Mo, Pogoy), even though those offensive players but Wright amd June Mar were misfiring. Ayun, liabilities on both ends.

but ever since his mba days and especially when he became tnt coach, his defensive plan is to outshoot and outscore d opponents.

If Parks can be forgiven by the MVP/SBP group mas malala pa yung issue niya nun to that side, I hope Romeo can finally given a chance as well to represent
Weird thing for me is, he shoots 32% from 3 in the PBA, but 40% (43-107) from 3 in 19 FIBA games.

even prior to the fiba suspension, romeo's gilas games has been on a downward trend since his 2015-2017 heydays.
he can be an asset still becos none of d current pgs have his shot-creation skils. but i'd rather see gilas roll with d younger pgs. especially if we have clarkson at sg.

but anyway, i do agree romeo was great in fiba, he was surprisingly a decent defender too. i don't follow the pba so i don't know how he'll fare if he were to play now.

doesn't the pba have the same 3pt line as the nba? if so, fiba 3pt line is closer to the rim than the pba line

Wala, the guard talent's somewhat regressed here for some reason.

FIBA announcer even said he was expecting SJ to breakout in the tournament. didnt happen because it was Kiefer's team and the coach didnt let him. SJ showed promised at 1st game against LIB then disappeared to the point he was hunting shots against NZ maybe Japan. in fairness though he wasnt able to stop Togashi. i'm sure SJ can run a system, and maybe even elevate his game to the level of shot maker.
what happened to RJ was worst, relegated as 3rd string. after rewatching Tab coached college core, RJ was actually 3rd PG but was able to supplant Tungcab because of his offense, how he was good as a microwave option in scoring, PnR with Kai. in contrast, RJ wasnt allowed to show anything in Fiba Asia Cup.
that's what coaching in a hierarchial way does.
also, im sure SJ can run a system better than Bolick or Romeo. why cant RJ be the microwave that Romeo was in a Tab team but what team are we building anyway? if its PBA style, then sure pick Bolick or Romeo.Last edited by noyce; 07-23-2022, 09:34 AM.

He does not have a slashing game of a young Romeo plus the elite shot creating of him. He can create but only to get that shot off in the perimeter kaya nachecheck
