This FIBA Asia Cup tournament exposed that Carl Tamayo is not the unicorn that we perceived him to be. That he has limitations and he is still a work in progress.
He is not yet a good defender in the post and in perimeter.
His parental moves ( gulang) is not so ninja-like and so blatant. Refs will call that foul easily. If he is not careful, that'll be flagrant
The most glaring weakness is his ability to rebound. Only 3.3 rpg in 4 games
But for a 6'8 pinoy, he's really good:
He can manufacture his own shots via drive or post
His perimeter jumpers, form-wise is textbook, but it's still below 40% success rate. that can change through reps.
He brings toughness. But we do hope it wont cross the dirty boundary
