"Kuliglig told me that majority of Gilas Pilipinas players are being eyed by Japan B. League teams."

Expect the PBA, with the sulsul of Long Hair, to enforce the anti-dodging rule"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

I wonder how FIBA would view this anti-dodging rule by the PBA, specially if there's someone with credibility explaining to FIBA what has been going on in the PBA in the last 10 years or so - lop sided trades favoring the strong teams, hoarding of players by SMC teams, SMC not lending its players for the national team?
We know that what the PBA has been doing is counter productive to the advocacy of FIBA."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. If Snow's chismis is true, this is headache for the PBA..basketball brain drain.
Can't blame them. Because if you go to the PBA, thenPBA pretty much owns you. The PBA sees Filipino cagers as chattels
Edit: I just checked Snow's tweets and his chismis Japan is eyeing most of Gilas. (Presumably, non-draftees)?

Baka kasi players A, B, C, would commit to train & play for Gilas for a particular tournament or window qualifier, then in the next tournament or window eh hindi na sila available or would beg off, so si players D, E, F na naman ang magti train & play for Gilas. This is a sure way of messing up Gilas' chemistry/cohesion.
If this is what our good PBA people have in mind then coach Tab should tell the PBA to just forget it (the idea of PBA players reinforcing Gilas). If PBA players are to reinforce Gilas, then the set-up should be according to coach Tab's (& his entire coach staffs') terms & not on anyone's terms.
This is why I'm advocating for the PBA to either pause the season or release the called-up players at least 60-70 days before a FIBA tournament proper, or at least 14-20 days before a FIBA window.

seriously, if the PBA wants to keep the best collegiate players in its uterus, it should fill it with money and conscionable contracts. with the advent of the generation of miracles came huge opportunities. it isn't budget daycare anymore.

Our guys wouldn't know where to rotate, or where to position themselves on offense, or when and to whom to pass.

This is to demonstrate the importance of familiarity with the coach' system & cohesion:

There's no way a team with 2-week preparation which starts from scratch would be able to play/operate like this. This illustrates the value of familiarity with the system as well as how important smart/clever or players with high understand of the game are."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. To get to that level, a lot of practice and training is needed for it to become muscle memory, and to achieve that, it takes a lot of time. Question is, will the PBA make the necessary sacrifices to raise its standing with the fans?

I think the common misconception is that sa offense lang talaga kailangan yung teamwork. In reality, defense requires teamwork as much as offense does."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Probably not, sacrifice na para sa kanila nila yung magpahiram ng players. Money still talks, unless the league gets some sort of compensation don't expect anything much than before. Kaya they don't like Baldwin in general since they can't handle his honest and upfront assessment on the state of the national team and ph basketball in general.
