High time we try the likes of Oftana and Tuffin—two way players with length that can do a bit of everything. 3 sub 6 feet guards should be a thing of the past.

Get these guys in GILAS uniform ASAP to get them used to international ball. I'm afraid Oftana might pick up some bad habits while playing in the PBA. 3 bulinggits won't work if you don't have legit rim protectors on the team.Last edited by ja.he; 06-30-2022, 11:26 PM.Attack

That loss to NZ has opened the door to the likelihood that Chot is coaching and fielding mostly PBA players in the WC.
Bigs: Kai, Fajardo, Aguilar, Malonzo, Tamayo
Wings: Clarkson, Dwight, Parks, Adams
Guards: Kiefer, Bolick, Perez
It's likely that from among Tab's roster, only Kai, Dwight, and Tamayo will get the call back.

Yeshkel's analysis of the Korea tuneups: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tl8u1CqBAQo
1. Doesn't like the quick offense. Though I think this was by design to offset the lack of defensive stoppers of this team.
2. Doesn't like Kiefer. Has bad PBA habits e.g. doesn't box out.
3. Doesn't like Lopez. He should shoot outside more. Inside open looks will be gone in the World cup.
4. Likes KQuiam's defense but needs outside shot

This puts in perspective Tab's close Gilas game against NZ a day after a close game against France. That was I think NZ's A team, Adams never plays for them IRC. If there was a rest day in between we could've probably defeated their A team. This team now is a B team and the previous qualifiers was a C team?
ideally, of course, it should be tab's developmental team with upgrades in the guard slots. but with the recent development concerning eligible fil-fors, and this humiliating loss to NZ, and add to that the expected lackluster finish in this coming asia cup, we all know where we are heading to now.
in the matter of Clarkson over Ange, I'd rather they play together with one of them being considered as a local. But if that's not really possible, I'd choose Clarkson over Ange and try my luck with Edu first as the latter's replacement before I choose any of the PBA bigs.

This New Zealand team is like the Dominican Republic team on steroids. RJ and SJ shouldn't have been here, definitely should make space for Kai, Ange and Balti in the future. I still really want to see the Nenad team get much more prep time and chops just like Tab's team did with the OQT and King Abdullah stint. These players are eventually gonna enter pro leagues and I wanna see the same core in the future.

I'll choose AK over Clarkson, with Malonzo available, plus the original Tab team, with guard upgrade of Bolick,Parks and a strong healthy Aj,will be a very competitive team.
