Quinito's quote was very clear cut. "He’s been cleared by FIBA to play for Gilas as a local! "

Hahaha SK, we should take the benefit of the doubt on this.. Everything when it comes to confirming eligibility alam and will go through SBP always since they created the mess in the first place lol

so Malonzo will be backup for Troy? if we are using PBA players, let there be the big 3: Troy, Roger, and Kib. And if they are in the mix, so is CCR. this is good news indeed.

Troy could be a big asset for Gilas if Tab stayed... Remember, Tab was on high at Troy and pick him in the final roster of 2016 OQT, Also he was perform well than the likes of Japeth, Ping and RDO...
Yeah, he developed his game when he joined PBA alright, just backwards. Jk. I saw some of his games back in 2019 Commissioner's Cup Finals against SMB. He did shoot and made a lot 3's back then, while also slowly becoming a traditional 4 due to his limited ball handling.

Wasn't there a huge controversy on the printing of Philippine passports a few years back because, apparently, the printing agency of the government delegated to perform this task (I forgot if it was the BSP or the NPO) deputized a private third party owned by the Zobels to print PH passports?

Aside from the allegedly anomalous nature of the contract between the government and the private company, protesters were also claiming that the setup could endanger our national security because in theory this private company could print out passports to anyone.

                        • "He’s been cleared by FIBA to play for Gilas as a local." Pretty bold statement by Quinito if there really is no clarity yet on Jamie's eligibility.

LIke what people said, 2 guys scored had double double for indon, they shot 40 percent from threes, objectively there is a high chance that you would win a ballgame even against a good team..

We have momentum there when we already have 7 pt lead, Indonesia was in trouble that time.. but they let them take threes and give momentum to them until 4th...

What was Chot thinking though? Maybe even UP or Areneo would have defeated him in that SEA games.

For a Filipino coach that has "a lot" international experience, you can tell he is not smart
Yep, we needed defenders. Chot just trusted Pogoy, Wright (who to be fair was making a lot of shots), and Troy, which was bad for our team defense. Lopez and Navarro could have been that, and would also get game time exposure.

Ateneo and UP played better defense and exerted more effort against each other than Gilas did against Indonesia.

                            • We all know that Quinito Henson can be iffy & biased in terms of his game analysis & opinion, but I think he is reliable when it comes to news/information. I don't think Quinito will stake his reputation & credibility for some unconfirmed news or information or such information coming from unreliable source.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

                              • As for Troy, the system here failed him. If he couldn't develop his handles, at least he could have developed his switchability on defense like Balti did. He has good athleticism and motor, we could have leveraged that to aid him in the perimeter.

People here are right, the PBA style does stunt development, or develop backwards.
