Then the fans would be like, "WTF no homegrowns, all Fil-Ams? Why can't we be like Japan, China, and Korea? All of their players are homegrown yet they dominate Asia!"

Rui Hachimura, "Cardo Dalisay" Ratliffe, and China's previous foreign coaches say hi. Not sure about the Chinese players.

      • We are like the serbia( 2014-2016 version) of asia lots of players playing in euroleague outside serbia at one point as their domestic league is tier below top european domestic leagues
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
        1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

He has to play in the PBA for that 5-year period to run.

Yes, the recent draft just reflected where the NBA/global game is now (not heading towards). Wing-size and versatility above all. If you're a big, you have to be quick. If you're undersized, you are out of luck unless you can have the ability to defend NBA wings on switches (like Curry). Basically, whatever your position is, you have to have the ability to spot-defend NBA wings.

Now the task is to develop our 6'5" and above "traditional" bigs into versatile players. Given their age, the Konov and Caelum types should continue in their development into these type of players. Hopefully, we do a better job of identifying younger players like them.

Even if he's not physically ready,he should be invited either on the bench or behind the bench and let him intereact with former teamates or future ones.

                • It’s been a rough year so far for Gilas Pilipinas. First, it was a subpar showing in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, where the offense looked less than ideal in a 24-point win against India and a 25-point loss against New Zealand. Next came a dismal showing at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games, where they […]

Agreed. We need more FIBA-eligible 6'5+ long and athletic guys to play more like Sean Manganti, Calvin Oftana, and even Will Navarro. Play more like wings and less like mobile traditional fours ala Jackson Corpuz. Hope we evolve in that direction.

Ateneo's looking to go in that direction with Chris Koon, and the addition of Kai Ballungay and Andrew Bongo, who are 6'7" and 6'5" respectively. Hope Lazaro can become a wing too in time, develop his shooting and perimeter defense.

Interesting to see how it would unfold more with both Kai and Angelo in the lineup, the real big men of the team.

Parks will really be a good asset for Gilas
