Atleast Greg openly saying that he wants to join Gilas even there's a hindrance of letting him to join, But Parks? As a Gilas fan, i'm already move on and accept that Parks will not play for Gilas... I will support those players who are willing to play for Gilas, Even that is IBN's favorite Kib Montalbo, as long they play their hearts out for our team...

I think if Coach Chot is not the coach, Theres a chance parks may play for gilas.

Or maybe in the future when Coach Chot and MVP are not controlling gilas anymore.

I will still list Parks on my Dream Core for 2023 though. Hahahaha.

But if that wish will not be fulfilled, Perez or Thirdy or Oftana can take his slot for me.

We've seen Parks in international games before. He played more like a shorter Norwood. A defender, facilitator, utility guy. He was afraid of contact. With Parks we always focus on the high and forget the before and after. In the PBA, we remember his sublime semis against Phoenix, where he was almost import like. But we forget all the other conferences and games that he didnt really make much of a difference. He disappeared a lot of times. After the semis, he injured himself because of that superhuman effort. He played a much lower level against Ginebra until his body couldnt do it anymore.

Even in his JP team, I dont see his games, but from his stats I would say he mostly the same guy. A defensive facilitating utility guy. With some offensive explosion here and there. If that is a guy who will play in Gilas, someone who is too brittle to take contact, I will think twice.

Best assestment and no bias opinion on Ray Parks Jr. I feel the same way about him. Better to invest on guys like Abando or Heading, younger almost the same height. But we will be getting more offense and shooting compared to Parks, whose role in Gilas has already been secured by the guys like Matt Wright, Thirdy and Dwight Ramos. Hindi na kawalan si Parks at this point, ang dami ng pwedeng pumalit. There's also a CJ Perez waiting on the wings, and even a bigger wing like LeBron Lopez just waiting to develop to explode

But on the official website of SBP, his name is not there. Would this be a ploy to give Abando more exposure? Since friendlies naman and we all know what can we get from Thirdy at this point?

i think Thirdy is part of the entourage going to Korea....In the article it states Kiefer along with brother Thirdy were called up .....Could be Gilas will be bringing 13 man team...

I think there could be some additional players especially Bigs...The 4 man combonof Kuoame, Quiambao, Tamayo and Chui wont cut it against NZ....Hopefully another big sana Slaughter to take over Chui's slot and maybe even Tratter who is also a free agent.

How about NZ lineup? Will Kiwis be having better team than the Team C they sent last Feb...

ya, but his name was not in d 12-man roster released in most news outlet. hence, d probability that we will bring more than 12 players to korea.

The 33 man pool for NZ both for 3rd window and Asia cup has been released.

My prediction is coach Pero will go with vets for the one home gsme in Aucland (ili Abercrombie, Corey, Delaney etc ) 5 days availability will suffice.

And

With US college kids for the 10 day Asia cup in Jakarta, which is in conflict with the NZ NBL season (so availability is a problem), realistically for Asia cup players have to be available for 3 weeks which is unrealistic for NZ NBL players .
