Angelo Kouame deserves the NP spot over Christian Standhardinger and Jordan Clarkson even though i love them. I'll take the flak because It's for the good. Maybe they should play in the Asian Games where they relax the rules of eligibility. Ange Kouame is the rebounder and shotblocker Gilas needed and has chemistry with them.

Ceiling is lower with Ange especially with Kai around.

Clarkson 6'4", Stan 6'8", Koaume 6'11" has ceiling, can also play with Kai 7'3" especially if one has foul trouble, really good combo

Im talking about the ceiling of the team not height. Clarkson is levels ahead of Kouame talent wise and if Kai really is NBA level then he should be as well.

What ceiling are you talking about? I'm good with Jordan Heading 6'3", Thirdy Ravena 6'4", Dwight Ramos 6'5", make up your own team composition then so we can see It's ceiling

Ceiling as in potential of the team. Id just have Kai playing a lot with Junemar and Japeth as backups while having Clarkson/Harper as NP depending on their performance in the NBA next season.

We lose against Lebanon with your team. I'll pick Stan over June Mar and Japeth in the PBA.

I think you are severely underestimating how good Clarkson is compared to his asian games form. As long as his form is still there than he is miles ahead of Kouame talent wise. Plus we already lost to Jordan with Kouame. Guess why we lost? Euroleague level center which is the level of competition we will face in 2023.

That's why basketball is a team game. With the right teammates, you will win. JC A+ player + C players. My team A- + B- players.

                    • Is Parks really not possible for 2023 ?

                      Anyway would go with this

                      Kai /Tamayo /Philips (local assumption)
Harper Jr (of course assuming gets passport)/Baltazar
                      Dwight /Thirdy
                      Parks /Heading
Kiefer / RJ ? or Dalph (subject to tryout)

I think we can win against Jordan with Kouame but Kai needs to be there. Same as against Korea, Kai can keep the pressure even when Kouame is sitting.

It's not really padding. I saw these heights on YouTube.

As long as Coach Chot is the Coach. I dont think so

The tension between the two is too much.

I really like Rayray though. Arguably our best eligible Swing based on Talent. He has good size at 6'4ish Guard too

Then its the blogger who padded the heights of those players.

                              I think:

                              Thirdy is only barely 6-foot-3
                              Heading is around 6-2
Dave Ildefonso is 6-4 or at beast 6-5
                              Baltazar is 6-foot-7
                              Tamayo is 6-foot-8
                              Kai Sotto is around 7-2

I'm ok with a player's height being padded by an inch, but if being padded by 2 or 3 inches, disinformation na yun.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

                              • accdg to Don Ramon Fernandez, SBP should send the country's finest cagers in international tourneys, I wonder if Fernandez also shares the PBA's belief that the best players are from the PBA

MANILA, Philippines – Send the best of the best.

This was the advice given by basketball legend Ramon Fernandez following the country’s catastrophic silver medal finish in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam in the sport that matters most for Filipinos — men’s basketball.

“We have to choose the best possible players. We cannot belittle them (opponents) anymore just like the old days when we can send our college players and still beat them,” said Fernandez, a commissioner of the Philippine Sports Commission and the country’s chef-de-mission in Hanoi during Thursday’s weekly PSC Hour.

“We can’t do it now because our neighbors have tremendously improved,” he added.

The 19-time PBA champion and four-time pro MVP’s statement came a week after the Chot Reyes-mentored Gilas team fell to a Rajko Toroman-coached Indonesian that ended a 33-year SEA Games dominance.

While the country fielded in an all-pro squad headed by Junemar Fajardo, Fernandez thinks they could have tinkered with the roster more.

“I was saddened because I was expecting a win. But I have to give it to our opponents, they scouted us well and they came in really prepared,” he said.

Fernandez is someone whose advice must be heeded being an icon in the sport and a veteran internationalist.

He was a member of the national team that won the gold in the 1972 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship and 1973 FIBA Asia Championship both in Manila and the silver in the 1990 Beijing Asiad.

The man’s words are Gospel truth.
