Yeah Escamis is an assistman like Panopio who is based in the states so i would take Escamis who has upside in blocking and defending. Abarrientos is a 3-pt shooter like Bolick but he is with the PBA and has baggage, we don't want that negative energy on the team because of karma.

    • Just in! According to Siomay Sayson Gilas coaching job was offered back to CTB but he'll only consider it if some personnel changes will be made to SBP.

Yep, aside from this, I really wonder who made him resign? An IBN poster here said it was Al and RG. Snow a day ago said that he's 100 percent sure it's not Al. Who's calling the shots really? SBP is a damn mess. Tsk tsk!

Until either side discloses anything, we can only speculate.

I would say it had to do with the exodus of young talents to the B. League and other foreign leagues. The PBA has always viewed Tab negatively, so they pressured the SBP to “undo” everything by making themselves relevant again. Everything goes back to the PBA. They have been the troublemakers of any NT program as far back as the NCC days.

Not sure I should buy the angle that the SBP wants a Filipino coach to call the shots in the world. Sounds weak IMO.

Hehe. Does it have to do with Al and RG?

I don't know but based on the tweet it implies the CTB is cautious about the job because of the backstabbing that happened to him. I would like to think that this person is someone he trusted and then betrayed him.

Someone here once commented that they've been trying to set CTB up for failure and if that is indeed the case, then the timing of the offer is a bit sus. It's like when there are no pros available, they'll just use CTB. If he wins, they win. If he loses, they still win because it kind of proves their point that foreign coaches are just as fallible and justifies the appointment of a pinoy coach in the WC for next year. Personally, I would want to see how CCR & co. handle a mostly amateur unit, for educational purposes.

There is no recovering from all the things they have done. We're going to get humiliated the only question is who would be foolish enough to volunteer to have their careers tarnished. I pity the players though cause I know they going to get bashed hard next year for things that are out of their control
Does this explain why they wanna bring in Tab without a long-term program?

If so, that's a shame. Back to band-aid solutions and stagnation, unless we can get someone who has the respect of all stakeholders, enough of it to actually implement the changes needed in the SBP and the NT programs.

Tab's team could have been a foundation for a long-term program for Gilas. One that develops players for FIBA play and maybe overseas careers, has a system fit for FIBA ball, and trains coaches to coach that specific system and gives them pointers in player development.

Probably one of those "purong pinoy" advocates; the type of person who wants all teams in the country to be made up of just local homegrown Filipinos.

The 10th coach interviewed was probably himself.. or his son.

                          Ange would be the backup.

Just subtract 1 inch to get their height with shoes on or 2 inches to get the height w/o shoes.

                              • I always want players height to be barefooted. So, I always think Kai as 7'2 (barefoot)

I am one of the biggest Kai fans here. But I am sure Kai is not 7'4 barefoot. Maybe with shoes, he could be like 7'3 and something, where quinito round up to 7'4.
