"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV
And the worrying question is, would they care about developing players for the international game, like Tab did with Tamayo, Balti, Dave Ildefonso, and Suerte?
Honestly why, as I mentioned in a previous post here, I'd rather go with Chooks. Apart from being a new face, and not being affiliated with the PBA, they give a damn about development, e, like with the 3x3 team (until the PBA hijacked it).
I bet hugot system na naman yan & a 10-day training for the national team for tournaments like Asia Cup & World Cup.
I say, MVP group running SBP is still better.

The biggest question is the preparation time. PBA and B.League or any pro leaguea will end their season next year either April or May. 3 months prep time will not be enough to integrate them. Even if Coach Tab is the coach. Then Colleges will end by November this year which means the training for them will be Jnauary 2023. Six months might be enough but building chemistry with pros might not be optimal.while most of our opponents are already training for years, every year.

if they want some local coaches love to see them hire Aldin Ayo as one of their assistant coaches.

Which is why I think for the August 2022 and February 2023 windows, maybe even the June-July 2022 window, we'll need the pros that have been with Tab's program before, like Thirdy, Dwight, Balti, Heading and Kai if possible (although I read in this forum that T1 League is not that FIBA-friendly), that should be most of the pro contingent if we're gonna train for only 6 or 3 months. They already have the chemistry and knowhow, on offense, and especially on defense (which I still think lost us that game against Indonesia, thanks to the personnel inserted).
The rest of the team should be composed of the Gilas draftees, the collegiate players with Tab, like Kouame, Navarro, Tamayo, Abarrientos, Belangel, Lazaro (who was in the pool), Kyle Ong, which already have chemistry with the Tab pros, and some new faces like CJ Cansino, Kevin Quiambao, James Spencer, maybe Rhenz Abando, Aldous Torculas, Lowell Briones, and Jordi GDL. Only a few new faces might be needed, but I think all I have mentioned could use a shot.
One positive aspect I saw in the 3rd window 2023 World Cup qualifiers & the recent SEA Games debacle of Gilas is the improvement of Thirdy Ravena in the offensive end. I think compared to Thirdy's performance with Gilas in last year's King Abdullah Cup, Thirdy has become a better offensive player now. His ball handling & outside shooting have both improve in the last 2 years of playing professional ball in Japan. I can see Thirdy's offensive game expanding that there's a lot of things he can do with the ball right now. I could notice that mas assertive na sya ngayon sa scoring when his team needs his points.
One thing about Thirdy is that he can play both offense & defense. I think he's a better defender than most PBA shooting guards & is even a better defender than those top PBA shooting guards.
I see a very solid wing rotation of Thirdy, Dwight Ramos, Jordan Heading & Jordan Clarkson in next year's FIBA World Cup.

I hope Abando, Oftana & Bulanadi, and probably M.Nieto are being considered! If Montalbo can make the team, then these players are more than deserving!
Coach chot is stubborn. he will not resign. It's all in MVP's hand if he will listen to the fans and for the good of Pilipinas basketball to replace Coach chot, his favorite son, with either Coach Tab or Coach Nenad.
