never. and many never appreciate what sbp is doing and it isnt cheap either. to be honest i do hope mvp stop bankrolling gilas and his pba teams after 2023. hope he can just focus on ateneo and beda and maybe pour sponsorships on esports. i dont think having pba team is rewarding anymore.

If I'm not mistaken, if Gilas ends up the top Asian team in the 2023 WC then they automatically qualify for the 2024 Olympics. Probably MVP will extend for another year his role in Gilas if we are sure participants in the Olympics.

It will cause suspension from FIBA if they do that.. Remember Japan in 2014? And it will be a long process to outbid PBA to be a main professional basketball sport in the country.. MBA did that in late 90's and early 20's but it fold after that... PNBL should have a big monetary put pull the trigger of the PBA..

But if some of the coveted,cadets go to PNBL,and maybe some former players that were let by the PBA can be the face of that league.Slowly but surely,more players will opt to PNBL,and the PBA can't force the players of the league of their choice.If that happens the fans will shift and the PBA will just die a natural death.

If they have balls like Thirdy to do that.. What if they still want to play PBA? May magagawa kaba nun? You have to remember not every player has the dream to play overseas... Dun kasi ako sa reality pre.. What my point here is they decide to play in the PBA then MVP group should secure these players to be in his team just like they did to Oftana.. You should realize that this is not easy as you think.. And another thing.. MVP is a businessman.. Syempre he wants to have some profit on his investment.. He wants to have these players on his disposal long term.. I have a question for you.. If you are MVP and BWE now has that 1st pick next year? What you will do? This is now your chance to grab some of these projected long term Gilas players in the future.. Businessman yan.. He wants also profit from his investment.. If he says "Hey, Baltazar you should join PBA draft right now".. May magagawa paba tayo to tell them to play overseas?

it’s baltazar decision but who in the world MVP will do that if baltazar wants to play outside the country? and look b-league is booming right now with the good offer, pineda will encourage balty to play abroad.. it’s good for his development and exposure of playing players in his position..

theirs some good ineligible fil-ams around to choose from if they end up as no, 1 pick..

of course in the future they will play in PBA but not in the future and it’s not necessary now.. while young, go explore and play outside.. balty will earn 2x more than the max offer of PBA. who says no on that?

want PBA as the first option for all young prospects? make improvements from everything but i doubt that will happen..

no you don’t get it..

like i said, they’re players who are made for PBA and they’re players who are made outside overseas. no need to special draft this players and have 2 contracts. that’s no way that will happen..

let them play outside the country longer than 2023 without joining the PBA draft and special draft... PBA is not the only league in the world.

the more players we have playing outside RP will improve the quality of our NT.. for sure they will put gilas clause on their contract the same as thirdy

What I like about this idea is that the top pro leagues like that of Japan, Korea, China, New Zealand, Australia & even the ASEAN Basketball League are FIBA & national team-friendly pro leagues. Which means that these pro leagues are in their off-season during the months of June, July, August & September which is the period FIBA tournaments & other international/invitational tournaments like the Jones Cup & Merlion Cup are held.

Then these leagues also take a brief break (usually around 2 weeks) to give way to their National teams' participation in the window qualifiers of World Cup & Asia Cup. The B-league, KBL, CBA & NBL Australia as well as those premier pro leagues in the Middle East are doing this.

These things are something that PBA cannot offer our National team players or PBA would be hard pressed to do so.

With this, I'm thinking of this kind of set-up in which these Gilas players (that hopefully will play in foreign pro leagues) like Thirdy, Kobe Paras, Kai Sotto, AJ Edu, GDL brothers, Dave Ildefonso, Ange Kouame, RJ Abarrientos, SJ Belangel, get to train for at least 2 months during the June to September period each year - a period when all the top pro leagues except the PBA are in the off-season. In this way, our Gilas team/pool could establish enough cohesion & are well assimilated to coach Tab's system.

Ito yung ginagawa ng teams like Japan, China, Korea, Iran, Jordan, etc., that is why even if these teams are given just a 10-day preparation period prior to a certain window, cohesive pa rin yung team & players are well assimilated with the system.

The question Baltazar will try? Remember Calvin Oftana.. He was offered to play overseas but what happened? And MVP knows politics.. He doesn't want to be like Gilas 1 scenario.. Let's see muna next year what will Baltazar next move, And hope for BWE to get that 1st pick for some security, Pinipilit mo pa ineligibles eh di naman yan mapapakinabangan sa Gilas.. But still we still agree that PBA is the cancer and they should let out to be a SMC player.. or else!!! Bye Bye Gilas!!!

Yes.. Especially if Baltazar will join.. Big man is still top priority for PBA teams.. And MVP teams will take that opportunity to get Baltazar first over that the likes of Martin or Holt.. Anyway TNT has Mikey Williams, NLEX still has Kiefer while Meralco still has Newsome (I don't care in BWE as they are farm team only).. So they don't need that another guard

They’re crazy if they don’t pick Remy Martin.. MVP won’t probably miss to draft a jayson castro steroids version.. And their you go, MVP can put remy or holt to meralco. And newsome is not a PG.. problem solve for them.. IF ever they can get balty in special draft IF theirs a special draft. It will be a good problem to have for MVP if they draft remy or holt quality..
