JUST IN: An expanded Gilas Pilipinas pool of 30 players including a bulk of pro standouts has been proposed for a loaded 2022 schedule after a meeting between coach Chot Reyes and PBA, Commissioner Willie Marcial told The STAR.
Also reminds me of the saving face the PBA did by sending an all-star selection in SEAG after that disastrous 2019 FIBA WC.
The PBA management really thinks Filipinos are stupid and forgetful.

One thing that pisses me off is hindi magkasabay sabay yung mga generational talents natin per position:
During the time of Castro and Blatche, we lacked good 2 way wings, and parati pa wala si Lassiter noon, imagine if Thirdy and Dwight are in the line-ups of prime Blatche and Castro, sheesh.
I have high expectations with Bolick and Juan GDL, especially Bolick, I don't know maybe super taas kasi ng standard na iniwan ni Castro. Terrence was getting there kaso ang tagal ng inactive nito sa international scene. As for Kiefer who was supposed to be our lead guard, parati naman absent sa mga qualifiers, hindi niya tuloy masolidify yung PG position, come 2023 I think our best bet is still Kiefer and Terrence, since hindi na naman babaguhin ni Chot yung DDO, these 2 guys are the one's who excelled the most on his system at the point position

Kiefer actually played pretty well in the qualifiers for 2019 against Australia. Sayang lang, na-positive sa drugs. He could be a big help with our bigs, get them involved in PnR.
I actually said Terrence is still FIBA-fit. Sure, he's 30 this month, but he already has had a good track record. Inefficient, sige, but he can provide shooting and a spark off the bench.

CCR and X-man pool na naman. Kay CTB, when you say pool, it means players joining the regular practices and all are being developed. Kay CCR, pool is synonymous to a list. On paper lang yan. I'll bet anything those 30 players will NEVER be complete in any practice session.

The beginning of the end without a doubt.
Parang sirang plaka tayo lahat dito. The SEA games is supposed to be the perfect opportunity for young guys Like LeBron and Lepalam to hone their skills. Honestly, ano ba talaga hatak ng SBP? Are they even interested in sitting down with UAAP/NCAA officials?GILAS WISHLIST:

It's really short sighted to just put all your eggs in one basket and get an exception for Clarkson who can only play in August 2023 .
It's actually quite stupid...from a long term investment standpoint.
Which you think the SBP should be thinking off.
This is the systemic problem I'm talking about.
We continue to make the same mistakes. very short sighted
For Long Term Exception, Overseas Players like:
Ron Harper Jr, Remy Martin, Sage Tolentino will be good candidates.
PS:, Btw, I hope we can get Ron's brother Dylan

If he accepts that B-League offer last year baka bumalik siguro yung dating TR7 that we know... right now, Kiefer and Bolick is the best choice for PG position for Gilas mainly today thru beyond 2027... Dwight and Thirdy will be shoo ins for sure, especially that Parks is not interested on playing Gilas while Paras still has mental problem to resolve for... Hope that Oftana will play again for Gilas.. We badly need back up to these two guys...
However, as much as I'm a fan of scoring PGs like Castro, Kiefer and Terrence. We won't be competitive world level kung magrerely tayo sa mga below 6 feet guards.
The perfect scenario was the Tab system where a lot of off-ball movement, and mostly mga wings and nauutilize like Ramos, Baltazar, and Tamayo, plus the constant involvement of Sotto and Kouame, and guys like Terrence should just have a role of coming off the bench, to give a shot in the arm and create a momentum, pagkina Kiefer or Terrence umiikot ang offense because of the DDO then ilista mo na 20 plus points parati ang tambak kapag elite physical teams na who likes to play full court defense all the way like NZ, smh.

Hypothesis, which probably many of us feel: Some SBP officials are stakeholders in the PBA, and if the PBA loses a huge part of its stake in the national team, said SBP officials would lose their own interest in the national team.
