They say Jordan Clarkson is only about a fraction of an inch above 6-foot-3, but looking at this picture, it seems Clarkson is around 3 inches taller than Paul Lee whose PBA height measurement is a fraction of an inch below 6-foot-2: https://www.spin.ph/life/guide/paul-...=home_hybrid_1

I bet Clarkson's real height is around a fraction of an inch above 6-foot-4.

    I
Clarkson was measured to be 6'3.25 in the NBA draft combine. Maybe he grew or is wearing sneakers w/ some padding. Paul could be 6'1 and half tho.

As the 2014 NBA pre-draft process rolls along, the first day of the NBA draft combine signifies the start of a huge event during the offseason...

Basketball event in Asian Games will be more exciting with the entry of these 10 teams.
Especially from an Australia , ANZ perspective , this is weird as they really have a strong history in partciapting in the commonwealth games.

          • Especially for basketball, I doubt Nz will field a basketball team for an Asian games, I mean they didn't even field a team for the OQT.. The Asian games does not represent any affiliation for Nz , better pa they participate in some Polynesian games

there's also a brewing trade war between China and AU. China is regularly dishing out harsh words and threats of war against a seemingly unaffected AU which seems to enjoy the attention lolz. If the Aussies aren't banned, or if they don't boycott the china asiad themselves, the basketball match between the two will be very fun to watch.

that may in fact be true, and we also shouldn't discount the probability that AU will boycott the Asiad because of Chinese bullying and threats of missile attacks. But a basketball match between the Boomers and whatever the chinese basketball team calls itself, whew! that's a game to watch out for, politics be d@mned.

                • I think in this scenario each NSA of Nz will decide independently if they will field a team for the eligible sports for Asian games , parang Jones cup invite .
And it will depend on funding and if they see the Asian games as good practice preperation like an invitational tournament

This is like Gilas being invited to the Gulf games, it won't be priority but could be good exposure

You're missing my point, I'm saying even assuming they're allowed , they will still be unlikely to choose to join a continent games competition they have no historical affiliation with

This quadrennial event should now be renamed "Asia-Pacific Games". I could only imagine SMC-PBA's revulsion to this, especially if Australia and NZ would send more than their B-teams. Understandably so, as getting a medal would now be a lot harder than the past editions.

It's only for a select number of events so Oceania teams won't be participating fully.

We should take this opportunity to use our non-eligibles like we did in 2018 when CS, Clarkson, and Pringle played together.
                        GILAS WISHLIST:
                        6'8 Pingris

Yes, doing that plus better coaching certainly increases our chances of a much better finish than what the "Gilastopainters" had 2018. But I hope that the team they will send will still be composed mostly of the current Gilas cadet standouts.

That's gonna suck for us if that's the case. But looking at the bigger goal (outright Olympic berth from 2023 WC), using those 2 consecutive continental cup events as training ground won't be so bad after all.

To me this should have been the 100 time for a wakeup call that local talent should have been developed and elevated instead of relying on a player who has numerous factors that will prevent him from playing.

A lot of Asian teams know the advantages of Fil-Ams, naturalized players or NBA imports by the Philippines. This model had success back in the day but at this points its been scouted and they will use a lot of red tape to block that.

This isnt Miss Universe where we can select a random 2nd or 3rd gen mixed Pinoy and have them be our best, that doesn't fly in FIBA as teams will do everything to hamper it lol
