I just prefer Oftana as more 3 than 4 in FIBA, but under this system? He'll split almost equally. To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

If SBP had any foresight and needed to get an exception for an ineligible. They should focus on a player like Harper Jr who could represent us in 3 World cups up to 2031.
It's really short sighted to just put all your eggs in one basket and get an exception for Clarkson who can only play in August 2023 .
It's actually quite stupid...from a long term investment standpoint.
Which you think the SBP should be thinking off.
This is the systemic problem I'm talking about.
We continue to make the same mistakes. very short sighted

Originally posted by IPC View PostSo basically, tuloy ang guard-driven system, when some of the NT's core pieces are 4s and 5s? Hay, nako.
Basically, we will stick to a 4 out 1 in offense with either DDO or Swing. Wala naman problema yun. The issue is with Chot sticking to one ineffective offensive set for 40 minutes straight and hoping for player A to go super saiyan. This is classic hero ball.
DDO can be our main offensive set pero kailangan din ng variety in order to be unpredictable. This was highlighted by Tab a year back.
Honestly, our offense under CTB was already a 4 out 1 in Offense. Mas maganda lang flow ng offensa at mas disciplined. Less bara bara plays. The players also had good size. Our only issue was the PG. Belangel and RJ were simply not the best options back then.GILAS WISHLIST:

and Kiefer and Dalph if he can stay for a month in the off season should help with the PG spot. then playmaking by commission after them. Thirdy and Dwight are not playmakers but can help take care of the ball and move it around. same with Heading and even Tuffin. i think if we really want to go young, Anonuevo should be someone Gilas can have a lookas well. and all of these are non PBA. so some of them should be available at particular games.WE DON'T COUNT YEARS, WE COUNT CENTURIES

OK, the PBA is now coming to the rescue.
Please, from the PBA, I hope the RIGHT PLAYERS for every position will be called to the pool, whether for the FIBA Asia Cup or the WC, or even the windows. The only PBA players that I think are FIBA-fit are Japeth, June Mar, Oftana, Perez, Bolick, Marcio, and Romeo. Probably Arvin Tolentino as well.

Pba + Cadets.
Interesting. I hope I will like the Players included.
Hopefully it is more of cadets. But obviously it will be more pba. Hehe.
Anyway, Let's wait for the pool na lang.
Di talaga papayag pba that they will not be part of 2023 WC especially hosted by us
