But Tab's issue to Mr. Chua is different than Abueva... And in PBA, Tab can't be coach because of BCAP rule... So it's useless for SMC to bring Tab.. unless they will put Tab at Letran.. That's the only way SMC can get Tab...

Yeah, 3 PBA players. But still, that's not a bad lineup for our Team A for this year's Asia Cup, and next year's WC. That's kind of our best players for FIBA, and those who fit the best.

To reiterate, the best players that we have now in the Philippines are the ones playing abroad and some college and high school players. Only a handful of PBA players deserve to be called for Gilas duty. what should PBA do now is to become a farm league for prospective players to be recruited as Asian import in other leagues.

They should wake up with their delusions that they are still the best in Asia.

Yeah, the only FIBA-fit PBA players for me right now, after this window, are Perez, Oftana, Romeo, Bolick. I don't know about Japeth and June Mar. They were once good for FIBA duty, I dunno about now.

If they want more representation, allow their FIBA-fit vets and youngsters to play with Gilas.

The dream of Asia cup medal is in jeopardy if its still under Coach Chot. I thought that now that we are under Coach Tab, there will be more hope that finally we will have a medal in fiba asia after the disastrous 7th place finish of Coach last fiba asia in lebanon.

SBP should have at least let Jong coach and maintain the same system. There were 8 players from Tab’s pool. Familiarity should be there. It doesn’t make sense to cram DDO in 2 weeks. SBP sure loves Chot, well they did say he was the “sensible” choice.

Jong honestly would have been a better fit. He could adapt better, e, whether his best players were bigs or guards.

Who were his best players in the Asian Games, by the way? To those who saw, who were his go-to guys? I wouldn't be surprised if he went to Asi or Menk or Ildefonso a lot.

Asi and Olsen. At least he went to Asi. I watched YouTube highlights. Goddamn, they were good.

And at least he could set up plays for Duremdes, Dondon, et al. How were they set up?

I think we are not winning on any FIBA games soon against top Asian teams. Well, SEA Games is on May 2022 and Asian Games on September 2022, right?. Sigurado maglalagay karamihan PBA players yan for GILAS. Lalo na sa SEA Games magpapabango sa Pinoy basketball fans ang SBP. Sure yan, significantly ibang lineup sa mga Games kaysa FIBA games.

Tama naman. We need some balance. Tamang timpla as long as everyone's involved.

Hopefully we can see the tamang timpla offense (and lineup) in the follwing windows and the Asia Cup. Hope to see a better defense too.

I am telling you guys, I don't think Chot will use these non-bearing windows for development. That's just not him. I really thought that when he was rehired that he was a changed man. He said that he would adjust to the Gilas cadets, but in the end, we all know what happened. It was insane on my part to believe that guy. I think the earliest we can get rid of SBP is after the World Cup. For us guys, we have to swallow that Chot will be the coach no matter how much he performs, for better or for worse. I hope SBP at least puts Jong as the HC, with Nenad as his assistant. At least there would be some sort of continuity. If SBP were competent, then they would have done this at least.

Especially if we get soundly humiliated in 2023. If we fuck this up, we'd call for their heads.

But come on, we need something.

With 18 months left before the World Cup, I agree no more experimental and developmental lineups. Send the best possible Philippine team. Cohesion and chemistry are the big factors Chot should address this early.

Well, all right. But I think that we should already go with the best and most FIBA-fit Gilas teams. For the Asia Cup and the WC.

From the PBA, only those with good international track records should be in, and those with real potential to play in FIBA tournaments.
