It would be just matter of time. Who knows, maybe tab already has an offer to coach NT of other countries. He’s perfect fit to coach china or be one of the consultants.

It would really suck if gets poached by another Asian team. Imagine all the insider info he has.

i never understood why Tab and Nenad being on the consulting team didn’t lead to this varied offense.

Tab has been with the team since 2013? Shouldn’t his system been at least incorporated into Chot’s?

I have no idea why Chot doesn't vary his offense that much in the PBA. His offense was better in 2013-14, in the FIBA Asia Championship and 2014 WC.

I hope he incorporates a lot of sets again given training time for the following tournaments and windows. Involve the bigs, then try to create off-ball threats, have them move off the ball, and exploit gaps in the defense. Just resort to an iso in the dying seconds, in the 8-10 second range.

We might as well prepare ourselves for that inevitability. All the head honchos only care how much merchandise and tickets sell. If they can cheapen out on training our boys then why not? You think the Japan boys coming back was something the Anti-Tab Coalition of Old Men Who Want Money For Call Girls wanted? I bet they begrudgingly accepted them into the training because they can't handle the ire that Chot is currently diverting from their greedy faces.

I'm sorry for being a negative nancy. I just really hate seeing all the progress finally attained be nullified because some old men want extra cash for sex. Because let's face it, they're not doing this for their families, the money from their main jobs is enough for that.

That tournament is also non-bearing and is the perfect opportunity to integrate the young guys to the team.

If Chot picks 30+ yo veterans again, talagang mawawalan na ako ng tiwala sa development.
Those tournaments have to place an emphasis on players under 30, and those with potential to play in Gilas tournaments, mapa-World Cup or Asia Cup.

If the emphasis on development goes to shit, I honestly won't be excited anymore. I'll support the team, but the excitement won't be the same. Hope I'm proven wrong, though.

How things turn out in the Asia Cup and the 1st Rd will determine whether I'll even buy tickets to PH matches in the 2023 WC.

Best save that money and watch Steve Kerr's Team USA.

I wish the NBA will bring their A team to the RP for the world cup, definitely the likes of lebron, curry, durant and harden would no longer be part of the team due to their age, I hope the likes of booker, lavine, tatum, trae will be part of team USA

and I hope that Giannis, Luka, Jokic, Sabonis would make it to the Philippines as well. sana naman the SBP will field and developed and competitive team for 2023

And allow the national team to practice for at least a month or two. Set plays, defensive schemes.

We'll need the best FIBA-suitable players for every position. That means enough talent and size, especially at 3, 4, and 5.

Steph and Klay might join the team as they both Steve's guys.

With Durant playing his last Olympics a year ago, the team needs a new leader and main scorer.

If we're talking about development, best just leave that to the collegiate ranks where coaches like Tab is of better use. Masyado maraming eche pwera sa professional ranks.
Well, I hope the collegiate teams can develop players whose play styles can be fit for the international scene. The PBA won't do that, except for a few coaches and teams. Bahala na sa work ethic ng player, e, and depends on if you have the right coach.

Examples na lang of good development for international potential would be Goldwin Monteverde with Tamayo and Quiambao, Tab with Navarro, Dave Ildefonso, Rey Suerte (as combo guards), Baltazar, and continuing with Tamayo. Beda develops 6'4"-6'5" wings like Oftana, Bahio, Amsali, and Sanchez. I only hope these development systems would continue, and with taller players with potential.

Goddamn, SBP. Galing n'yo. New direction for Gilas.

I hope this was just an anomaly.

                            Unfortunately, it was.

Chot's system is just 1-on-1 offense. Halos walang ball movement.

We can't rely on individual talent against teams like NZ. It just doesn't work.

Its needs to be someone that can handle the politics. If its Chooks thats just replacing Ateneo with UP but with even worse relationships politics wise.
Oh yeah, Mascariñas was pissed off at the MVP group and PBA for interfering in the 3x3. How will relationships be after that crap?
