Arespacochaga should take over. Uichico is a disciple of Ron Jacobs. Coach Sandy should have absorbed the most knowledge from Tab.Or Tab should get another young coach interested in blazing his own trail.

Young coach blazing his own trail ba kamo? whom Tab was also impressed with? that he was so competitive and focused, he violated the ECQ protocol, because i think, to his mind, he has a way to wrest the championship from Ateneo?? Yeah!! You guessed it right! Its Coach Ayo!! hehehe

How about every one's favorite interior designer? Is he interested in becoming Tab's deciple?

Did toroman lasted more than 3 years in iran? no, Did Tab last more than 3 years in Jordan also no..The success of the program is when after 2 or 3 years you make your nt competitive, anything beyond that is what I say.. "overstaying or I said no choice since no one better is capable" just like what Brett Brown was in Boomers and Tab Baldwin was with Tall Blacks after that great 2002 run..lelevel up dapat yun program and for Indonesia is for someone to be able to get the transfer of technology from Toroman..yun ang magiging lasting legacy ni Torman sa Indonesia pag nagkataon
Maybe you should be telling that to Japan basketball whose national team head coach Julio Llamas has been handling the Japs since 2017.

And speaking of Japanese basketball, Llamas' early stint with the Japan national team did not produce instant result as Japan struggled in the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup. Then in the 1st & 2nd windows of the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifiers, Japan sufferred one loss after another as it was beaten by Gilas twice & Taiwan & Australia once each. Japan was on the verge of being eliminated when it made a huge huge turnaround in the 3rd window by beating Taiwan via rout & scoring a big upset against mighty Australia. Japan then swept all its games in the 4th, 5th & 6th window beating teams Iran, Kazakhstan & Qatar to finish strong in its campaign going into the World Cup. Of course, Japan's turnaround could be attributed mainly to the enlistment of Rui Hachimura & Yuta Watanabe to the Jap senior national team, but my point is, the Japs stuck it with coach Llamas even if in his initial stint, the Japs struggled. That's patience & perseverance for you. One could sense that Llamas is going to stay at the Jap nat'l team bench for at least 2 more years.

Kasi kung sa Pinoy basketball yan, the head coach sucks in one or two tournaments, kahit bago palang sya, he will surely get fired.

Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Their core plays for NZ Breakers in NBL while other standouts are overseas Adams(NBA), Fotu(Italy), Tai(Turkey), Corey(China/Italy), Wetzell(Germany) and a bunch of their young guys are playing in NCAA or developmental players in NBL.

I could see Gilas doing something similar. Since Clarkson(NBA), Thirdy(Japan), Edu(NCAA), Kai(USA), Kobe(USA/NBL) are all overseas based for now. Are the rumors about Kiefer and Parks going overseas true as well? Then the young gilas core could probably join PBA as a guest team and be a regular team in ABL.
The Parks rumor, not so sure, since the PBA still has his rights. Kobe, however, looks like he wants to be good enough to play abroad, given that he's training with EWP.

I wanna see Jong coaching in the next Asian Games with Clarkson plus this boys and if he wins the gold, that would be the biggest coaching comeback in the National Team.

The Asian Games might be traumatic for Jong becauase of 2002, esp if facing Korea. Lol

                    Hopefully the NBA allows it.

Maybe. The interior designer is also under Rajko Toroman's coaching tree. He welcomes innovation. He is the antithesis of the BCAP. I think the chance of him to follow Tab is high.

Yeah, but is it really his coaching that did him in or the lack of heart of some players as in don't wanna put the burden on my shoulders thing.I'm willing to bet if he did win the gold,he'll probably cry like a baby with his pretty eyes out.

They will play along with other Oceania countries..

Basketball, volleyball and soccer players from Australia and other Oceania countries will be permitted to compete at the next edition of the Asian Games

BANGKOK (AP) — Basketball, volleyball and soccer players from Australia and other Oceania countries will be permitted to compete at the next edition of the Asian Games.
The Olympic Council of Asia confirmed after its general assembly over the weekend that athletes from Oceania would be eligible to compete in some team sports in Hangzhou, China, in September 2022.

Australian Olympic Committee president John Coates said he had been campaigning for decades for inclusion at the quadrennial event, which was first staged in 1951 in India and most recently last year in Indonesia.
He said the invitation to the Oceania athletes is limited to sports which qualify for the 2024 Olympics through Asia, including volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball, soccer and fencing.

                            • Don't know where to post this but I feel this thread is the most appropriate venue to post this:

They say Jordan Clarkson is only about a fraction of an inch above 6-foot-3, but looking at this picture, it seems Clarkson is around 3 inches taller than Paul Lee whose PBA height measurement is a fraction of an inch below 6-foot-2: https://www.spin.ph/life/guide/paul-...=home_hybrid_1

I bet Clarkson's real height is around a fraction of an inch above 6-foot-4.

Looking forward for Australia, New Zealand, Guam, Samoa, Tonga, Tahiti, PNG, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia and Fiji to join Asian Games basketball. The next 8 countries I mentioned after Australia and New Zealand are regular participants in basketball events in the Pacific Games. Basketball event in Asian Games will be more exciting with the entry of these 10 teams.
