Originally posted by IPC View PostI did notice that June Mar played well and got touches in the first Australia game. Yeah, Kiefer was feeding him the ball in the PnR, and he got opportunities in the post. He was scoring well. Couldn't watch Japan or Chinese Taipei much, though.
Well, that was another aspect on why June Mar didn't get as many opportunities. He played with scoring guards. With Kiefer, he was getting the ball. Kiefer by this point had developed from a scoring-oriented guard to someone who can make plays for others, and he showed it especially working with June Mar.

Yeah, even if June Mar wanted to eat a lot of rice, he could have still worked to condition himself back in tiptop shape for FIBA tournaments. Well, at least he got opportunities later on.

I don't hate Filipino food but I wouldn't have too much of it if I was a professional athlete. Too fatty.GILAS WISHLIST:

You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

Is this an omen? Looks like the PBA is influencing if not taking over Gilas with this development. It seems they want to ensure that the PBA will be the centerpiece of the 2023 WC team and not players from other international leagues
So sad, because even if you find the talent looks they will be deprioritized in favor of the PBAOriginally posted by Dotch View Postwell, we called it last year. if the Tab's Gilas' Core Four ( Ange, Kai, Balti and Ramos) + JC is at the forefront of the NT and the not the PBA boys during the World Cup, it will not be a pretty pic for the supposed World's oldest pro league outside of the NBAOriginally posted by IPC View PostWhy do they want to be the centerpiece? We'll need some of their players anyway. They'll still be represented.
And honestly, after that bullshit in 2019, where the PBA gave Gilas a prep time of ONLY 10 DAYS, they don't deserve to be the centerpiece.
But for the WC windows, we need as minimal PBA support as possible, except for the younger players like Oftana (right now he's injured), Arvin, probably Mocon. The rest should come from the college or HS ranks, or the international leagues. We need to be thinking about being competitive beyond 2023. Get a younger, deeper pool.
