I will never say Blatche wasn't a big help but every one contribute to a very respectable outing of our NT. For me, DDO didn't made us tired as we use 12 man rotation. Its just lack of experience in that scenario, like how JC lost the ball.
The roster composition has changed, though. Apart from good perimeter shot creators like Juan, Dwight, and probably Thirdy and Abarrientos, we also have guys who can score in the post, like Kouame, Tamayo, Balti, and in the future, Kai. Like I said, apart from Dwight, our bigs and forwards are our biggest asset moving forward.

When we have all of Kouame, Balti, Carl, and Kai, Chot will have to deviate from DDO a bit and try to involve them, not just have them wait for kickouts, drop-offs, and putback opportunities. Have them get touches in the post, or off PnR amd PnP action, or have Ange, Balti, and Kai run the rim.

Just add wrinkles to his offense, is all. Involve the bigs more, and get used to a taller but non-shot creating 3 (unless if that 3 is Dwight).

But again, as I repeatedly say, to be fair to Chot, he has improved his defense in the PBA. His TNT is a good defensive team, quite disciplined and full of hustle. Hope he can translate that to SoKor and NZ.

Yes. Same sentiments. That is why I think Tabs system should be used. He trained the players for it. The 3 guy does not need to be a good at 1 on 1. Just decent enough to run a basic PNR. When you have a tall 3 guy that is deadly enough.

SBP has to make it a priority to get Balti and Carl. The tall 3/4 is important for Tabs system. Navarro and Rosario can pinch hit a bit but they are shorter.

        • Ping's the latest addition to Chot's staff: http://tbti.me/s20e4j

Ping was a smart defender who hustled, sure, but can he translate that to coaching?

Re: Dwight, I think he has the same clause as the GDL brothers, Thirdy, et al. in their B.League contracts which allows them to go to Gilas when called up.
B.League follows the clause of making players in FIBA Windows. In a Niigata game, there is an advertisement on the court for WorldCup 2023. It is both an interest for Japan and Philippines to promote FIBA events as both countries are hosting. So the PR spin that players were lost to foreign leagues is so stupid. if SBP doesn't want to pay the release stipulation to B. League, then why did Dwight and Thirdy became available?

it is SBP that should clean house and fix the d*mn basketball calendar.

Probably will just be a Big man Coach.

I can see he's there to teach the advanced positioning techniques to the Gilas bigs, or yeah, just intensely motivate them to not give an inch to their respective defensive assignments during official games or even at scrimmages.

If Tab was not kicked out then I think June Mar would have kept the weight and still improved on D. This was the difference between Chot and Tab. Chot said hindi kaya ni June Mar. Tab said kakayanin ni June Mar. I will teach him how.

Junmar played his best international games under Chot. Junmar had significant role and minutes in the WCQ before the brawl.

I rewatched all games in WCQ against japan, taipei, and australia. DDO is like just 20% of the team"s play and usually only after broken initial plays. I don"t understand whats this fuzz about Chot and DDO. Chot"s Gilas has a variety of plays.
Well, Chot has historically struggled on defense (well, witbout Tab, who I think was our DC in 2013-14) and in breaking a zone. Our defense wasn't that good against SoKor, Lebanon, Australia when Tab left Gilas, and Chot took over. And the offense sometimes becomes stale when facing zone. However, I think Chot has improved on these areas. I feel like I've already touched enough on TNT's improved defense under Chot, and his TNT broke the zone of SMB, a team notorious for using zone. So that might be nice practice against SoKor, another team notorious for zoning.

Another aspect he could work on is involving the bigs, like I said. He might need to involve Balti and Tamayo more, and later on Kai. Give them some PnR/PnP action, have them post, or rim run. There were times kasi when the offense revolved too much around Blatche and the shot-creating guards, at least from what I remembered. He'll need to balance the guards and the bigs, that's all.

Tab's offense had player movement without the ball. Chot should keep that aspect, maybe integrate it with his DDO and other plays, so as to have more catch-and-shoot or cutting options.

                        Oh, my bad.

Still, hope Nenad might implement Tab's development plan for the players, and assist Chot on international tactics.

                          Yeah.

Chot, Nenad, and maybe Tab (c/o jong) may combine their system.

With limited practice though. Maybe this will happen:

There will be two 5 Man Group.

First Group: Castro, Pogoy, Troy, Erram, and another TNT player. ( TNT GROUP)

Second Group: JGDL, Thirdy, Dwight, Navarro, Kouame ( Cadets)

                          First Group will use DDO

Second Group will use Coach Nenad / Coach Tab Swing System.

That will confuse the opponents. LMAO.

hahahhahahahaha. Crazy idea though. But not impossible.

I did notice that June Mar played well and got touches in the first Australia game. Yeah, Kiefer was feeding him the ball in the PnR, and he got opportunities in the post. He was scoring well. Couldn't watch Japan or Chinese Taipei much, though.

Well, that was another aspect on why June Mar didn't get as many opportunities. He played with scoring guards. With Kiefer, he was getting the ball. Kiefer by this point had developed from a scoring-oriented guard to someone who can make plays for others, and he showed it especially working with June Mar.

Hope Chot can consider these names come May and try to work on their skills for June and August.

Well, if that's true, all the better that Tab tried to make him a PG, or at least a combo guard, because that's what he's going to play in the international level.

                              • Matt Nieto is at least 5'11, and Mike is at least an inch taller. Dave is definitely taller than Mike.

Therefore, Dave is no way just 6'
