Looks like he is really watching Coach Tab's handling of a team and he is changing his style and system into more versatile system like Coach Tab and not a very predictable DDO and small ball. But we shall see, Coach Chot has a tendency in the past to panic and when he panics , he always rely on small ball.Originally posted by zairex View PostOriginally posted by noyce View Postthe issue with Chot is not the X's and O's. it's the system best described as the Romeo effect wherein if Romeo does not hold the ball, what does he do to contribute and still be a "threat"? how can we use glorified NBA sets when we are not as athletic as Team USA? that's why IBN had been clamoring for a Euro approach since the time of Toroman, and in essence Tab. can Chot finally adopt a holistic system (i.e.. Euro) approach going away from an NBA approach ?
This is actually one of my frustrations regarding the use of June Mar when Chot was in charge. He rarely got his number called, either as a PnR recipient or as a post guy. He was just for putbacks and drop-offs.

Right now, from Tab's Gilas, none of the bigs are at the level of Blatche when it comes to creating from the perimeter. They are either PnR/PNP threats, low-post guys, or attack only off the catch. We'll need to see if Chot can make use of that, and not relegate them to stretch bigs, putback guys, or drop-off recipients.

In 2014 They have post plays for Ping. But almost none for JMF.
JMF was used exclusively as the "abanger" where his skillset doesnt fit.
I believe Kai and AJ next Year will be Comfortable Bigs attacking from the Perimeter.
But for this Windows with Kouame, Rangel, and Erram. Let's see how will they be utilized

Vertically integrated system for Gilas
Gilas head coach Chot Reyes is inclined to map out a vertically integrated approach for the national team program, linking the training of the U14, U16 and other junior programs to the senior level so there is a seamless developmental pathway.
Adding the TNT players is a boost. “Hindi sila kinikilabutan kasi sanay na sa international competition,” he said. “We’ve got RR (Pogoy), Troy (Rosario), Poy (Erram), Kelly (Williams) and everyone else should be ready, including Kib (Montalbo), CBC (Carl Bryan Cruz), Brian (Heruela), Glenn (Khobuntin) and Matt (Ganuelas Rosser) whom I originally recruited for Gilas years back. Mikey (Williams), unfortunately, isn’t eligible.

Inside a bubble to train for the upcoming UAAP men’s basketball season, Tab Baldwin reflected on the huge task at hand in getting the three-time defending champions’ back on track for a fourth title.
Acting on documents passed by the SBP, Fiba recognized that Slaughter failed to secure his passport before turning 16 - a key prerequisite for dual citizens - but acknowledged that he got his passport at 17 and moved with his family to Cebu at age 19.
July 2021 -Nineteen-year-old Kai Ballungay*moved to Ateneo Katipunan ... 2 years prior at NBTC he secured his passportLast edited by DAdmiral; 02-08-2022, 07:29 AM.

More interested in Rick Olivares claiming there is no preseason. I wonder who is right him or Quinito? they both work for Philstar as well.
On Kouame, Koon, Ballungay; Ill believe it when I see it. FIBA rules are still trash and will not be redeemed by vague or unwritten rules.Last edited by Sikatrix; 02-08-2022, 07:41 AM.

Send him to Japan LoL
Anyway the greg slatughtr exceptionn.approach of recruiting passport holders based overseas to play as FIBA locals is what every federation does . No need to reinvent the wheel. .
It's what works and continue to do more ..Last edited by DAdmiral; 02-08-2022, 08:27 AM.
