Well, I just hope Chot doesn't tinker too much with the system or the roster. Like I've said, he's probably taken a page from Tab defensively. However, I hope that he can trust his bigs more, whether in the post or in the PnR.

Another is, I hope he doesn't run 3-guard lineups unless the 3rd guard is Thirdy or Dwight. The 3 should be a guy the size of Navarro, Baltazar, or Tamayo.

And furthermore, I hope he has a development staff, since some posters pointed out his lack of chops as a developmental coach. We need to develop players beyond 2023.

However, I fear for our roster composition and development of our young players. This is not the time to win now. Can we do this AFTER we've used up our windows to develop young players?
        Short Answer: No.

        Lol. Ok then.

We better win, if we will stop developing.haha

Yeah, Tab was program director. I think he was just pushed into the HC role, because we're out of options.

Even with Chot's improvements, I still think Jong would have been a better choice for FIBA.

wait, I think SJ fits the ddo philosophy, but yeah Chot would not go for player development with just 1 year left before the WC. (god this also doubles as the olympic qualifier, they should keep that in mind)

Hay, nako. Hope Chot will prove all of us wrong. If we get blown out thrice, sus ginoo, time for change.

Well, the guy hasn't beaten the Koreans (or the Iranians) since 2013. So don't be surprised if we drop all our games including NZ.

Correct me if I am wrong.

But when Coach tab was assigned, there is no mention of being the permanent coach right.

If I remember correctly, they are looking for a european coach. And I think they already talked to some candidates?

But because no one was signed yet. Coach Tab took over.

Hays. Yeah. We can only hope for the best for our gilas

I'm hoping less drama this time. Last time he coached GILAS we got blown out on our homecourt, got involved in a brawl and got himself and most players suspended.

Why the heck do they keep on hiring Chot? Don't they want to try someone else?

Who would be the ideal coach though?

Among the pba coaches, Coach Chot is the most successful.

So, a better coach would have been a european or foreign coach. Or maybe a collegiate coach?

Also, I would have prefer for a new coach that just continue Coach Tab's system.

But we all know, it is not going to happen. They will implement their own system if they are the new coach.

It is just a mess that we dont have continuation in terms of system and identity

                              • Can't believe I actually lost sleep over the coaching move. Knee-jerk reaction, goddamn. Why make the move DURING THE WINDOWS?

But, well, it's done. But, for the love of God, I really hope he learned his lessons. Keep developing the kids during the windows, the PBA players coming only in the tournaments proper, involve the bigs more, whether in the PnR or in the post, only MINOR tweaks to the offensive system, keep any defensive improvements he had in the PBA. And, no 3-guard lineups, please.
