    • Bahay was good. A bit undersized but good. Zain as expected lorded it in the paint. But I am not sure how he will score against taller guys. Porter is a bit slow but good touch from the outside.

Overall the guys were disciplined in the defense and there seemed a flow to the offense. A comment on the play where a guy gets it outside the FT box. That didnt look smooth. We had
a lot of TOs and I didnt see anything good from it.

Santi was atrocious though. He gave good effort. He has mobility and some handles but I dont think the guy can shoot.

Caelum and Konov didnt do particularly well. Konov has to develop a driving game. Caelum was good in defense I guess. They were trying to set him too much for a dunk. But kets see if he shows up against better competition.

nothing against the kid, but would like to see him more specially against bigger and more athletic opponents. I compared the hype on him to the hype of Hrabak before. after 1 game, my comparison has not changed though I know there is still chance for him to develop even better. he is struggling inside. some say he is a natural wing, but watching him, he isnt really fast nor explosive to stay with athletic wings.
        hopefully he does become better

Konov is very mobile, but I don’t think he has the speed or handles to develop a driving game, gets stopped pretty easily and his dribble is too high, got stripped a few times and lost the ball under the pressure.

I guess he is just a spotup shooter in HS. But he is our tallest guy we need more than spotup shooting from him. If he will be a perimeter player he needs to develop his handles.

Yun nga sasabihin ko, you want ten guys to get the best training and prep have him in the lineup..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
              1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

The dad is the one who wants to ban ALL FSAs in college. He also said a lot of stupid things I can't remember ATM. Also he owns one of SMC's farm teams.

does he however have upside mobility to defend latteraly? he can be a 3 and d guy potentially.

Not many situations where he defended on the perimeter but I don’t think he’s good laterally, very upright can’t really stay in front has to turn to keep up.

                      • The Japan game will be very crucial, Mahmoud, Bayla and Porter are solid for this game, I think Harris and Konov needs to calm down there nerves that first game jitter is very much evident especially on Caellum, IMHO Zaid and Porter can handle those hafus inside the paint..I hope Bayla, Bahay and Competente's outside shooting will click, I'm expecting Jones to be contribute on that game, as for DDO Jr. that game would be his baptism of fire, he needs to know how to use his bench properly so that we could have the fresh legs come 4th qtr.

I'm glad that we have many options. Before we had to make do with 6'5 bigs. And yes, he may have played terribly but I've seen him enough to say that there is something we can work with.

Yup. He doesnt seem to be extraordinary defensively. He seems to be mobile but he doesnt seem to have the temperament to be a stopper. It was Bayla I think who was good at pressuring the lead guard. I see Konov more of a offensive player than a defensive one. That is why he needs to develop his other skills.

                            • We need to win against Japan to top our group. If my understanding is correct of the format, if we win we will have India/Indo in Qfinals, Iran/Korea in Semi and Aus in Finals. If we loss we might meet Aus in Qfinals.
