Just like this "scouting report" (lol) of Japan's 6'7 Yuto Kawashima , whom the BG-U16 will meet in the group stage

    from @hoopnut
All I can say is that the kid is one of the shoo-in(?) because of his impressive work rate during several training camp conducted. Watch out there are several hafus that I think has the length and been included in the final roster.

He is probably their best player as he already played last 2021 U19 world cup at only 15/16 years young.

Yup I think he is the alpha..in my observation and those hafus are the supporting cast.

        • With respect to the spoiler warinings, I've heard from someone who went to watch the Batang Gilas scrimmages that the way they play is the same as the Chot teams. Hearing that is very discouraging, to me.

The coach is DDO Jr. What were you expecting?

Just rewatch the 2018 U18 FIBA Asia matches. You’ll get an idea how they’ll play. We had Kai and Edu to bail us out. This time we aren’t so lucky.

I don't know about that. This time we have bigger guards and wings. Maybe this time they'll succeed.

With this clown as our coach? That’s a big IF.

In sense magaling sa ATO si chot past sea games(to be fair), the only hitch is may mga trial period eh.. then the sloppy player rotations..and yup no organized team defensive scheme yet.. its on your own to stop your man kind of thing..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
                  1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

                  • The Jr. need to shape up considering the situation is still fresh otherwise the coming tournament are shaping to become another nightmare on Philippine Basketball history book.

                    • Choke Reyes and Jr.'s offensive system are missing the lessons of the “triple threat” skills of shoot, pass and dribble toward the basket. Their system is more of a dribble the ball after a pass then try to penetrate to the basket and if stopped by a defender that's the time he'll pass to his teammate and his teammate will try again to penetrate and redo what the first player did..

Hoping these players' three point percentage are above thirty percent(30%)..

Based on the limited clips. Only Konov and Bahay are kinda consistent outside shooters. But those are just some clips

                          • A tall wing player who plays the 4 position:

                            Jayson Tatum 6'8
                            - hoping that 6'8 Jayden Harper will come close to Tatum's basketball skills

A not so tall big man(5 position) who has a guard's skills

                            Al Horford 6'9
                            - hoping that 6'6 Caelum Harris will grow an additional 3 inches

Sir Tom how about adding Ron Jr. 6'6 our Marcus smart (as our naturalized guy) and Michael Philips 6'9 as our Rob Williams III for 2025 and beyond? your take?

Off-Topic: Congrats to our Floorball Team for booking another trip to the World Floorball Championship to be held in the beautiful country called Switzerland this November by upsetting the world ranked Australians.

I'm also rooting for Ron Harper Jr. to be our naturalized player, he is a combo forward and could be the big forward in small-ball style of play and a small forward in a tall ball style of play. As for Mike Phillips, he could be Gilas Pilipinas' Dennis Rodman..
