Apologies for being a bit selfish, but I want the play style he brought to UP to stick.
why would it go to UPIS? did they integrate this already? for some of the school, the senior and junior programs are separate. remember why Coach Cantonjos got angry with Coach Ayo, the later receruited Cansino without talking to to the former. same school na yan.
over a decade ago, UPIS had a coach who has his friends as asst coaches. 1 of them is my cousin. outside of casual talk, there is zero connection between senior and junior. that was before Dan Palami came into the picture, so i dont know what they do now.

It's honestly just me hoping that the play style would stick around, and we need to influence training styles from the ground up, start from the youth levels.

      • Like Ateneo, the college and HS should have the same system so you can develop players while they are younger for your college system.

        • When will the Konov kid arrive? I am intrigued as to how good he actually is knowing di na sya pinagtryouts to be part of the pool.

          • Hope this U-16 team plays more tune-up games. Iba kasi ang complexion ng game during a tune-up game kisa sila-silang mga U-16 players lang ang naglalaro ng 5 on 5. Mas may intensity syempre yung tune-up game.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

I read he was referred by Jayden Jones (also in the U16 lineup)

Looks like he will come this thursday.

He is a 6'6-6'7 Shooter. Thats the only thing we know about him. I am not sure he have the physicality inside though since most likely he will play PF/C due to he is the tallest.

Yeah. And ofc, to develop chemistry playing in a competitive 5V5 Tuneup game

I think they had one against TNT and heard they're also planning for tune-up games against college teams naman.

So based on rumors and statements we have from trusted sources, looks like these are the guys that are expected to perform: Mahmood, Gemao, Harris and Pre (and Konov??).

I am expecting Bayla and Harris to be our main stoppers against tall guards and wings.

Really need to see Pre First. I dont think I was able to watch him yet

                      Edit:

He looks decent here. And moves like a Guard/Wing.

If he is really 6'4-6'5ish, he may be an asset in the Future

He played sa NBL U16 for Pampanga. Based on what I saw, he has the tools to be a tall wing ala Basti Reyes. Can shoot 3s, go coast to coast, and defend against smaller players. Pero yeah, very small sample size to conclude how good he is. But sir Enzo is apparently high on the kid. Let's see.

Yeah. Looks like He have better perf than Basti in practice.

But the two could be our Wing Players being rotated in U16.

Oh. He can shoot the 3?

I only saw lot of drives and slashing.

If he can be a good outside shooter. Better

Yep. I think quarterfinals ata yun ng NBL U16, not sure. But then again, still to be proven at higher level of competition. But good thing that he is not shying away from shooting 3s given his size.

I hope you're right. But Josh Reyes actually opted to start Bayla at SF with Bahay and Gemao at both guard positions at their tune-up game against TNT. I would have wanted to have Gemao (kid has good ball handling) and Bayla as starting guards. Length and athleticism on full display with Caelum at starting SF and Pre/Basti at PF. Mahmood for sure is the starting C.

Edit: I forgot about Konov. He could be our starting PF if kid delivers.
