Terribly coached first half. No sense of urgency whatsoever, from players to the coach. If they come out with this aura for the second half, 8th place it is.

Iran is playing old school basketball by pounding the paint. Josh was too slow to react and let Iran build confidence and momentum. I rarely call out the coaching but this one’s too frustrating.

Ez Mill needs to have his requisite PT to makeup for the money his dad probably gave to the team. This is the problem with nepotism. Sooner or later it affects decision making for the worse.

Yep, he's pretty hands-on. The man is juggling U-16 and Seniors. I am not sure, but I think he is also the program director for India as well.

And U16 qualified to world cup. And the main national team will qualify to world cup, thanks to korea self eliminating itself.

Honestly, i dont know how to rate the U-16 team. The boys has shown its potential in the first half of the Australia game and has shown it can be top level team. Individually, the team has a mid-to-top tier PG (JHouse), a top tier all-around forward (Caleum), and a trio of forwards that are still scratching the surface, Bayla, Konov and Zain. Also, Competente , the youngest, is a shoo in the next U-16. and has a strong argument to be in the U-18. A good coach just needs to mesh all these talents into 1 competent unit. Sadly, coaching is where this team scores the lowest.

This team lacks cohesion, good in-game decisions and composure. That's on the coaching staff. At this stage, more than anything else, the boys need teachers that will teach them the correct way to handle situation, not necessarily a coach that scribbles X and Os, and how to draw up plays. Sure Josh is an expert on these, more than all the posters here. But good knowledge of the patterns, doesn't always equate to being good coach The finer intricacies of the game will come to them as long as they have coaching.

Yes Japan is a great team this year. Batang Gilas had bad luck in the draw and faced Japan early in the tournament. The Japan big kid is versatile and has US NCAA potential.

I still think in the group stage, PHL can beat this JPN team even if the they cant stop Yuto.
