Or Lorenzo Competente can be a lite version of Jordan Heading.

You can argue, he is the most consistent performer for batang gilas thru all bg games so far.

For homegrowns, Competente and Porter really exceeded my expectations

Agree on Competente hope he grows to 6'4", that would be ideal for pinoy SG in Fiba Games. No mismatch in size against Europeans or big asian guards.

competente's a great role player. high BBIQ, good shooter & defender, doesn't force things and doesn't make too many mistakes. the pogoy comparison is not unwarranted, the younger (non-scorer) pogoy was prolly the best role player in his earlier gilas stints. he'd be a great asset to the national team if he grows to around 6'5"

harris is like the opposite of competente. bigger, faster, more athletic, more talented but has low BBIQ and commits too many turnovers

But what can we do, malakas ang kapit sa itaas eh. They're basically living off reputation from 2013 when Gilas finally shed their demons vs Korea at home. Chot is basically our own version of the NBA's Doc Rivers or the NFL's Mike McCarthy, perhaps even worse.

I noticed that too, Competente has some baskets where he adjusted his foot to go inside the 3 pt line. Maybe from muscle memory if they had a shorter 3 point line in his games in the US?

Caelum has a lot of growing up BBIQ wise. The dunks were good. But later Oz already adjusted. I agree he gets lost in defense. Sometimes he forgets he is already a perimeter player and camps in the paint. Good potential. But he has to realize the dunks won't be there in the higher age group.
