Pretty good effort I reckon, unsure whether having an extra day off helps or hinders australia.

Hate to compare them to their kuya's but I will... When Korea caught up to Gilas, Nenad called timeout to stop the bleeding and didn't allow Korea to run away with the game. For the most part, Gilas controlled the pace of the game but Korea were just hitting their threes. Here, Josh called timeout a minute later they're down 7. Game over from that point.

It is a good effort from our team. it just shows our team lack talents that can compete against australia. Maybe 6-7 at most players can go toe to toe""failure is not the end but just the beginning of a victorious journey..just keep on dreaming and we will be back on the olympics''''

109-83 AUS. GGWP Batang Gilas.
Despite dropping out of contention for the 2022 FIBA U17 WC, this BG U16 team is still one of the better youth teams we have had, at par with the 2013 batch that placed second to a very strong China team at the time and the 2019 one with Kai that placed fourth despite the entry of AUS and NZ.
The competition in the U18 tournament will be tougher, especially from the Middle Eastern teams, but I hope they will make the U19 WC next time.Originally posted by gideonNot sure why all on here got salty when the Serbian coach said Gilas lacked any real quality. I mean isn't that glaringly obvious.

On a side note i swear that Josh Dent already played for Aussie U18 or something (or maybe his brother lol).

Even after our QF exit there are still silver linings in the form of potential solid Gilas seniors players PG - Bahay, SG- Competente, G/F - Bayla, F - Harris, F - Konov, PF - Mahmood. I'd consider Porter too if he either grows to 6'7+ or transitions to a SF/PF but I have to say he has shown that he has some skills. Maybe Gemao too, I have seen his vids and he looks to be a hard worker but in this youth edition it is evident that he still needs to improve more.

Is it just me?
Or Lorenzo Competente can be a lite version of Jordan Heading.
You can argue, he is the most consistent performer for batang gilas thru all bg games so far.
Expected ko na good performance on our Foreign Based Fil Foreigns e.
For homegrowns, Competente and Porter really exceeded my expectations
