It bothers me that Quincy Davis plays a local for New Taipei and they still have an "Asian" import in Hayden Blankley (Bay Area Dragons)... and despite two good imports in Anigue and Manigault... their best player hands down is a 35 year-old Jeremy Lin.

The height limit that the PBA enforces on imports is a joke.

And not allowing naturalized players after allowing Tyler Tio, come on. Naturalized players are citizens, they should take up local spots, or at least a permanent roster spot.

I hope this EASL campaign makes the PBA introduce some changes. That "gold standard" comment by Ricky Vargas isn't holding up that well. If the gold standard of Philippine basketball is losing in continental matches, nako po.

Imagine if all these Africans studying here that can’t get a pro basketball job then the Indonesian Basketball League takes them… and they join the EASL then dominate a legit PBA title contender like Ginebra or SMB with 2 imports. I’m actually looking forward to the next Al Vergara or Rudy Lingganay, who’d rather play all over Southeast Asia than be that Php30K PBA player.

He's been shooting that three ball well throughout the season. 39% from 3 in all competitions.

Good on him for keeping on practicing that shot, even with the lack of playing time (including some DNP's) in the domestic league. Stayed ready.

TNT end their EASL campaign at 1-5. Oftana was scratched, so was Castro. That was a poor performance.

So, if the is the 'gold standard' of basketball in the Philippines, a record of 2-9 in the EASL reflects poorly of our 'gold standard.' This is on the PBA to help our teams compete better in this setting (like changing the import rules; allow 2 world imports, especially for teams strapped of bigs).

Will this SGA squad can win EASL title this season if they allowed to join? EASL allowed 2 World imports and 1 Asian import / naturalized players… currently SGA has 3 World imports, As Blatche, I will consider him as naturalized player spot… So only 2 between Howard, Robertson and Moore will allowed to suit up (I think Moore will be odd man out there) plus local guys such as Heading, Quiambao, Baltazar, Cagulangan, etc… can they win at all against teams in Japan, Korea , Taiwan (and even China)?

I will give them a break for this season… TNT suffered heavy loss since most of their “championship crew” are injured and Mikey leaved the team… maybe not excuse for you but you can’t be a competitive team if almost half of your rotational crew are injured… while Meralco shouldn’t be here because it should be Ginebra was the original participant here but they declined… next time PBA should take this EASL seriously… if not then give that spot to SGA.. atleast SGA team can treat this tournament seriously and might win at all

As for MERALCO, well, ayun, they were not supposed to be there, but they did have a formula in this, discovered it too late, they would have been more competitive if they had Lofton from the start. Wouldn't be surprised if they retained that combo for the EASL (hope the PBA also allows that combo in the PBA)

SMB's getting blown out with that poor defense, especially in the frontcourt. Ginebra and Mags, while good defensively, are offensively flawed teams (especially considering that Ginebra's without Brownlee).

EASL also allows to hire naturalized spot or Asian import spot… I don’t know why PBA teams didn’t take advantage of that… they can tap Blatche or Kouame for that position to upgrade their teams… I hope next season PBA teams will have a good performance.. it also seems they are now adjusted on fielding two imports… if they adjusted earlier, they can manage to win more games… You don’t need to have two ball dominant import at the same time… it should be complimentary to each other
