We have many but too kind to be hc, si Jong Uichico, Sandy arespacochaga.. this are well equipped inlt coaches that can go abroad but lack the managment skills to hanflr a national team abroad or will not leave their stable job here
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
    1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

Management? Isn't that supposed to be the team manager's job and not the coach's?

But yeah, i agree with you about the capable coaches not wanting to leave their current jobs due to stability, especially if they're on the payroll of billionaire patrons.

Now that the groupings are out, what do you think of the PBA teams' chances? Do you see them making it to the SF at the very least?

2019 Edition with two imports SMB it to the Semis, while TNT was eliminated. This editions may depend if both PBA clubs play with two imports.

I see. With teams from the CBA (usually, with their souped-up line ups) not participating, i think we'll see an unpredictable and more balanced competition this time around. I just hope the FIBA rules and pace of play will not be much of a big deal for the 2 PBA teams.

The difference that time I think both TNT, SMB and Blackwater used the tournament as practice games for the upcoming PBA season they were giving a lot of minutes sa mga bench players(SMB and TNT) and relied on the two imports a lot.

SMB might be a finals contender

Quite understandable as the stakes weren't high that time, plus each team paid a fortune for their extra import, I assume. This time, it's not just about bragging rights anymore. I hope SMB and TNT would go all-out. Winning a regional title is no mean feat and should be celebrated more, IMO.

Thanks. They'll have better chances if they pair Thomas Robinson with a Brownlee-like wing import.

                        • I see PBA teams to have 50/50 chance against B.League teams but only 30/70 against KBL teams.

Since 2007, I only remember one game that a PBA team has won against a KBL team - Blackwater against Samsung in 2018.

UP defeating a KBL team in scrimmages is a dangerous sign for the PBA coaches. It's not only Ateneo that's "tactically mature" in the Philippines now.

KCC Egis and LG Sakers had tune ups against SMB and Ginebra back in 2019, KCC loss all their games while LG loss to SMB and split their 2 game series against Ginebra

What makes PBA coaches tactical immature. SK also does 4 out offense like SMB, when they have an import who works best inside like RaGuna or Vernon M. who has no outside shooting.
