ALEX Stepheson renews his ties with Blackwater as the towering import is set to reinforce the team anew in the Asia League Terrific 12 next month.

Board of governor Siliman Sy confirmed on Wednesday the 6-foot-11 Stepheson will be on board for the Elite in the Sept. 17-22 tournament in Macau.

Still to be determined is Stepheson’s import partner for the week-long meet, where teams are allowed to field two reinforcements.

Henry Walker, the team’s import in the past two editions of the season-ending Governors Cup, won’t likely join Blackwater this time as he’s currently signed for a long contract playing in Japan.

Sy said Blackwater is now looking to tap the services instead of a former PBA import to play for the Elite in both the Asia League and the PBA’s third conference.

After the PBA season the folks will be getting ready for the world cup, are they going to get enough rest for this league?

Yes, an almost 4 week is a luxury for the PBA players.... This will sort of serve as tuneups for the Givs Cup for the 3 teams... SmB and TNT will be missing Gilas Players JF, Troy and Pogoy for about 3 weeks due to World Cup. But this is a good test for the PBA teams if they are really as good as the teams from CBA, KBL, JBL..

Mckenzie Moore & KJ McDaniels for TNT. I cant wait to see how TNT fares against Liaoning who I'm guessing wont have 2 of their stars due to the WC. I wonder if Lance Stephenson will suit up in this tournament?

The Far Eastern University Tamaraws capped their pre-season campaign with a sweep of the 2019 DLive Summer League, Sunday evening in New Taipei City. In the finale, FEU leaned on one-and-done big man Emman Ojuola and sweet-shooting forward Brandrey Bienes in an 82-63 rout of Bank of Taiwan. Ojuola provided the spark for the Tamaraws, […]

Lester Prosper and Dez Wells for SMB.. Fajardo will skip the tournament

                      https://tv5.espn.com/basketball/pba/...mpression=true

"Since each team is allowed two imports, we're bringing in Lester Prosper. For the duration of our practice, we won't have June Mar (Fajardo) since the World Cup will only end on September 15 and then we will leave on September 16 with our first game the following day. So we need somebody to fill in the slot of June Mar," Austria told ESPN5 on Monday.

                            my tournament preview

                            TALK N' TEXT
I think TNT has very few quality bigs as compared to the other teams.I think if Kelly Williams is still injured, the only formidable "big man" for them is Rosario. Taha might be a defensive asset but he still have to show his that he is also an asset offensive wise.Against the other big guys who are 6'10 or taller, TNT is really lacking a presence down low.The whole team should be grabbing the rebounds and defending on the post to compensate their lack of ceiling.Guys coming from the bench like Pogoy,Trollano and Heruela has got to show what they did during the finals series.Although they seemingly an incomplete lineup, this will depend on how the coaching staff word things out for them.It may even turn to be a blessing in disguise.

Pros: PBA Championship and international experience with some guys who played for the NT, efficient coaching
Cons: lack of Size, some injured players are questionable to play

                            Possible Starting Lineup: (C) Taha (201 cm/6'7'') (PF) Rosario (200 cm/6'7) (SF) Moore (198 cm/6'6'') (SG) KJ McDaniels ( 195 cm/6'5'') (PG) Castro (177 cm/5'9'')

                            SAN MIGUEL BEERMEN
San Mig has pretty much a solid lineup having three good bigs (at least) namely Fajardo,Standhardinger and Prosper who I think would be competitive enough against other bigs.Dezmine Wells will be a pretty good Small Forward/Shooting Guard.Standhardinger will be coming off the bench yet again to give valuable minutes not to mention very good guards coming off the bench in Terrence Romeo and Alex Cabagnot. If Marcio and all the other folks are healthy, they might even reach the finals or even win it all, who knows?

Pros: Championship experience and winning tradition. Probably the most complete Philippine lineup in the tournament
Cons: will Junmar show up against the other international bigs? Burnout?

                            Possible Starting Lineup: (C) Fajardo (209 cm/6'10'') (C) Prosper (208 cm/6'10) (SF) Wells (195 cm/6'5'') (G) Lassiter (190 cm/6'3'') (PG) Ross (187 cm/6'2'')

                            BLACKWATER ELITE
They might be lacking back up bigs but I think they have a much more competitive set of bigs as compared to TNT but I think TNT has shown that their experience is second to none.I think they will have good set of back up players in Belo and Maliksi.

Pros: long lay off, more rested players. Might be lacking a bit of fire power.
Cons: relatively inexperienced ream in terms of championship experience. might be experiencing rust due to the long lay off.

                            Possible Starting Lineup: (C) Stepheson (208 cm/6'10'') (PF) Al Husseini (203 cm/6'8) (SF) Fuller (198 cm/6'6'') (G) Parks (193 cm/6'4'') (PG) Di Gregorio (185 cm/6'1'')
