EASL and BCL are separate leagues.. and they base thru Fiba rankings... Two Taiwanese teams will be favored but Pelita Jaya will be dark horse since they have very quality imports in Thomas Robinson and KJ McDaniels plus naturalized slot Anthony Beane also most of their line up are part of Indonesian national team... Remember Pelita Jaya beat KCC of KBL and Gorgan of Iran last year... -
Grouping for the BCL Asia East Qualifiers
Four teams from both groups will qualify for the Final Four, and the champion and runner-up teams of BCL Asia East will earn the right to go to #BCLAsia and face 6 other teams: champion teams of the B.League, CBA, KBL, and the PBA, and the #FIBAWASL champion and runner-up!

Hoping this league will stay forever.. we need event like this to fasten the development of Asian basketball... NTK, Taoyun and Pelita Jaya are top teams there since all of them have very good quality imports.. This Meralco - Taipei game is like a remnant of the SGA vs Chinese Taipei finals, import looks like selling the game again. Costly turnovers and defensive collapse on their end many times. Especially Akil, this is not the way he plays at PBA. Only the locals are the ones keeping them alive.Comment

because PBA teams are more accustomed to play with a single import both for its reinforced conferences therefore adding additional reinforcement
in actual games will certainly exposed lack of chemistry and cohesion amongst the players.
considering that the leagues was an active member of EASL wherein as per policy they are allowed to parade 2 World Imports with unlimited height and 1 Naturalized player but
will be considered as a local all at the same time during actual games.
and that's really a problem to all PBA teams who are participating in that tournament.
don't expect our Philippine representative will provide stiff competition with their Asian counterpart if they are stoneheaded and keeps on implementing that 1 import rule on all
it's import flavored conferences.
that is why the impression was "those PBA teams are only there just for a mere attendance not really to compete if we've seen them competing in some degree well it is just pretentious
because the real mindset was on the PBA no more no less".
Grandpa Dean and Grandpa Noli being one of the broadcast commentator of EASL are totally aware of this but they keep on biting their tongue bec. they are restrained(?) to spit it out the real score from their respective platform.
if only they could emulate the NBA's "In-Season tournament" and coincide it during EASL season while a PBA conference are on-going(it's perfect if it's an All-Filipino Conference)
therefore issues about cohesion and chemistry will certainly been address without compromising nor disrupting the campaign of each PBA ballclub during the on-going season.
now if the issue about finances, well scrapping one of those redundant conference with height restriction will not compromise the overall dynamics, the financial pocket and process flow of the PBA.
just continue inviting foreign based club team in the same breath as BAD or much better more than one.
it's a guarantee, fans will certainly drove again on every venue to watch a game imagine if they could only lure a mid-tier team from the CBA or NBL that would be a dandy.
obviously if that happens finances of the PBA will certainly improves.
I've posted this idea before and the bottomline here is who will benefits on all of this.
well definitely the overall landscape of Philippine basketball will improve from the national team down to it's grassroot level.
oh dear for now the PBA Grandpas are still implementing the jurassic way of running a show.
it's there safe space there comfortable buffer zone.
it's a natural thing on any human being when all of us reach that Grandpa level
aspiration, goal and desire in life are not as motivating and enthusiastic compared to the heyday level.
it's a rare thing, an endangered species if we've encountered people even in their old age but still keeps on exploring new things or innovations
and that wisdom is biblical
