Congrats to Germany!
Who could have thought that Germany could become a basketball country, and a World Champion at that.
Beating USA in FIBA is like the US Men's Football National Team beating Die Mannschaft in the FIFA World Cup. That's how big the game was. And now, not only did Germany beat USA, they also beat traditional basketball power Serbia in the finals.

My ignorant ass was very surprised to learn that Argentina had a world-class basketball program despite not being a first-world country like the US. The only NBA/US NCAA Argentine player I knew then was Pepe Sanchez, which I remember was just a bench warmer. Seriously, Manu, Scola, Nocioni, and the gang were no-namers to me when I first watched them play and beat Team USA in 2002.
