Interesting look at how the teams shot and paced offensively during the group stages.

so, very very high possibility we will get USA vs Canada, both teams consisting of NBA players...
Talent and skill is still EVERYTHING in basketball.. if you have THE talent and skill, much easier to implement whatever system we want..
that needs to be our focus from a very young age.. we need to develop talented and skilled younglings first.. starting from the teen years.. then everything will come into place...
dribbling, shooting, passing, rebounding, strength, agility, speed, etc.... these should be the focus on player development at a very young age..
the coach is not the priority, the PROGRAM DIRECTOR, MANAGING DIRECTOR, PRESIDENT of our federation is the most important person right now, because if we have a very competent and knowledgeable basketball official who can have a very good relationship with all our leagues and stakeholders, everything will come into place.. he or she can set the pace for development of the whole program starting from grassroots, to young age bracket all the way to seniors level..
again finding the sweet balance of commercialism and development is the key.. if our PBA, NCAA, UAAP, etc lack the talent, then it will fall, if our major basketball leagues, who are our lifeblood falls, then we will fall as a basketball nation, no matter how many foreign based players we have..
this is off topic but quite similar metaphorically, we have our comic book movie genre, and MCU and DCU are the drivers.. both studios need to be successful in order for the comicbook genre to fly, if one or both fails, all will fail in the box office.. that's how it is.. that is why MCU supports DC and vice versa..
same here, basketball is our genre, if the local leagues fail, we will fail as a basketball nation.. both foreign based players and local players should be successful in order for basketball to fly, so we need both to support each other, the PBA still has a longs ways to go in terms of supporting player exodus but we need to convince them harder, that foreign based players' success is also the local leagues success.. and vice versa..

(Second of a series) After stepping down as Gilas Pilipinas head coach, Chot Reyes made sure he would clarify just how much he was accountable for a botched Fiba World Cup campaign. There
“And that’s again because of the lack of [preparation]. If you think back, we were playing well in China, things were okay: The ball movement, the [movement of the] players. We were already getting to that level [that we wanted to be],” he added. “But we all knew how it was going to be when Jordan arrived. We had no idea how we would react [with] the way [other teams would defend Clarkson].”

System can take both Serbia and Germany as far as possible but the talent of USA and Canada is undeniable. Outside the two, only France and Australia have the capability reach gold medal round for years to come.
same with Canada, they are peaking now but will go up against a very system organized and inspired Serbia team..
this final four is a treat to us Filipino fans at home...

So I asked a European National team coach how much they pay their players to play for the national team - including a super legit NBA superstar - the answer - nothing crazy or extra, per diem of 300$ a day. They want to play for their countries. Respect.Philippine Malditas to FIFA Womens World Cup 2023

You forgot Gilas will have less points in all of those games due to being the home team. And the 2014 FWC will be removed from the rankings during this cycle, will be nice to be ranked on the lower 30s but don't keep your hopes up on a decent leap.
