  • Sorry, tuffin pa. No pba tecord but based on his nz nbl games he can defend bigger, stronger, and quicker players than pogoy with same or better 3pt %. Mas matangkad pa

who would have though that out of parks, heading and pogoy that pogoy would be the one selected. Well token rep!
And Homer says Pogoy is the last man in.

Well, he's in the roster. Just hope he's not in the rotation.

Agreed, Parks and Marcio would have been better picks if we needed a shooter.

Wright, pass. He's 32-33, and his FIBA track record is not good.
I really don't get the selection. Since he's not a prospect and more like a win-now, veteran in the eyes of Chot, it's no brainer if that's the criteria pala then Marcio Lassiter is head and shoulders the right pick. There was an article when the pool is on the process of being formed that he was just waiting for a call to join (may basbas na since Al Chua is now hands-on more involved in the Gilas program).

Hindi nga makaporma si Mikey dito kay Lassiter, ilang beses na hahahaha.

Are we expecting Roger Unggoy to defend Liz? Solano? Montero? Or even their best Guard in QUI

        • Well its not 100% fault of Pogoy to begin with, the one who picking players ang salarin 100% yan haha

          • All our guards have suspect 3pt shooting except for Clarkson. Good luck breaking the opponents' zone defense.

Pogoy had his notable defensive performance against Senegal’s ace guard in the 4th. The guard was eating Kiefer alive. Pogoy had better height and gave good effort. But against the DR guards both Kiefer and Pogoy will be eaten alive. I actually think CJ is a better matchup here as long as he doesnt throw the ball.

Newsome would be a far better defender. Pogoy's just too slow, and at 6'2", not really an advantage.

Actually true. Newsome is a shorter Norwood but with a worse 3 pt shot. I think Newsome is better in non Ramos minutes. Both I think are historically our worst 3 pt shooters.

                    • I would've been OK with Newsome over Pogoy if it's a battle of 2 bad outside shooters. Newsome at least defends better.

Lol then do it yourself! Haha, I’d rather go 11 players just to not have Pogoy. Heck, I’ll even consider their PT Dexter Aseron for the 12th spot instead of Pogoy.

Kiefer for all the bashing and hate was a phenom from his HS days, he was expected to be great. ROGER POGOY WAS A BISAYA WHO WAS EXPECTED TO BE A GARBAGE MAN, YET HERE WE ARE, IT’S ROGER POGOY’S WORLD. AND WE ARE JUST LIVING IN IT!

In Chot’s eyes tho, Pogoy is his Ritualo,

                          his Jeff Chan

                          his Gary David

                          his Fonacier

They will justify his selection because he will sell to the fans that ROGER POGOY IS THE GILAS DEADSHOT 3 POINT SHOOTER MARKSMAN.

Roger Pogoy is still a Bisaya. Do you have anything against Visayans? Junemar is Visayan and so other so many great Pinoy basketball players such as Hontiveros and Mon Fernandez.
