Harder to develop 6'8 small forwards and 6'5/6'6 shooting guards in the Philippines. Let's be realistic here, those players will be unbelievably slow.

You see how Tamayo, Baltazar and Navarro as small forwards got punished by shorter but more athletic players.

Upskilling 6'1-6'4 Pinoy players into true guards will be the more realistic approach since there are an abundance of players within that height range. Again, 6'5 and above players should also receive guard skills training but not to play as guards but forwards or bigs with guard skills.

Well, is that really matter? Many teams (even Spain using naturalized imports) using naturalized imports to strengthen their teams… even gilas using naturalized from douthit, blatche, brownlee and now JC to strengthen their chances… good thing for Indonesia is that they can use bolden for many years, since he’s still 24… he’s not yet his prime years playing professional basketball… and I saw in their current line up that no prastawa, grahita, jawato and DMX… that is basically 4 of their starting 5 missing… that shows they are not stopping to get improve.. I guess they were inspired by Philippines’ basketball level and they want to be in that level (still long way to go)… hope that they will win that spot… they have a chance by the way…

yeah i am ok with 6'1 to 6'3 pg and sg , while 6'4 to 6'6 sf which we already have, while the 6'7 to 6'8 pf that can shoot and put the ball in the floor is a must

I see Newsome, Perez, Dwight, Pogoy and Parks being assigned to any DR guards in my opinion. All of them are capable defenders naman.

I noticed that Solano's role with the team has been reduced. He is just off-the-bench right now. Maybe, the arrival of Jean Montero and Lester Quinones has something to do with it.

                      • What's the scouting report on Angola? That is the team that we should be extra preparing for, and constructing our team to beat them.

Nope, its NZ national team A. But I think NZ is missing the Webster brothers
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

                            • Realistic path for Gilas for the lone Olympic slot is to beat Angola, should be treated as a do or die game. DR w/ KAT and Quinones feels like a longshot and Italy well..Then we're off to the classification phase.
We're one of the host but how come China and Iran looks to have a better path for 2 wins?
