Well, at least with Blatche, he joined Gilas training about 7 weeks prior to the 2014 World Cup so he was well assimilated to the team. And he was very fit during that time. Hindi lang sya physically as fit starting 2015 onwards.

iirc it had something to do with the insurance clause in their nba contracts. something like it covers 30 or so days on international duty, so if the tournament lasts 1-2 weeks then only 2 weeks of training is insured

Guy is a good shot creator on offense, and is a plus on defense. He hasn't been the best lately, but at least he showed that he could defend in the August 2022 window. Hope he can get his confidence back for FIBA.

Maybe due to brutal Paul George injury in 2014.. after that, nba, their agents and also the players are hesitant to play their players to fiba competitions or they want insurance from basketball federations all over the world to cover in case someone like PG13’s case before…

It seems Thirdy will be cut automatically... He's too small for SF while not a good shooter if he plays SG... He's still not develop yet his PG skills yet... So he will be out... Also Abando i think will be cut too... To raw for now, maybe he will have a chance in 2027 edition...

Sadly Kief will be assured of a spot since Scottie won't be 100 percent during WC. If only Bollick or Abarrientos was invited, both can perform on par with what Ramoz is showing IMO.

RJ Abarrientos is good actually, but he's just small/short that opposing team's point guards in the world level will exploit the mismatch in size. Bolick on the other hand doesn't have any problem with size since at 6-foot-1, he doesn't give up much size/ceiling against most point guards in the world level. Bolick also has the experience since he already played in the 2019 World Cup.
