    • Watching the game, CJ Perez was actually blowing by the guards of Senegal with EASE.. problem is finishing since he got so used to playing in the PBA going up against small centers that his usual finishing didn't translate. He usually just outjumps when going up on a layup, now that he is going up against athletic 7 footers he gets blocked multiple times.

      • If I were coach chot I wouldn’t play Edu tomorrow. Or maybe just make him run through the motions and continue sharpening up his shooting. He had such a workload earlier.

By now he’s all but a shooin. Never mind the offense, that’s just a bonus. Edu’s value lies on his ability to provide the team with a different defensive dynamic, particularly his ability to hedge and recover and defend in open space. No other big can do that. That alone would’ve merited him an 8 mpg WC stint.

This tourney has only solidified himself, not only on the final roster, but in the rotation as well.
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

        • See, this is the reason why Gilas should include Ray Parks in the final 12. The same reason why we miss Jordan Heading so much.

            • you dont want us to go in consolation rounds to get that olympic slot..Jordan has its winnable game agaonst new zealand and a weaker consolation group..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..

Is there already a venue/schedule? I'd like to watch any of the 2 games, live.

Hoping for the best with Gilas this 2023 FIBA World Cup.

My first question if someone will answer me, do you share the same sentiments for this line-up po?

                        C - Kai Sotto
                        C - June Mar Fajardo
                        C - AJ Edu
                        C/PF - Japeth Aguilar
                        F - Jamie Malonzo
                        SF - Dwight Ramos
                        SG - Jordan Clarkson
                        SG - Ray Parks
                        SG - CJ Perez
                        SG - Rhenz Abando
                        PG - Scottie Thompson

For the last spot, whom do you see will make the cut between

                        Pogoy
                        Kiefer
                        Thirdy
                        Newsome
                        or
                        Oftana

                        My heart says Newsome
                        my mind says Kiefer
But if I had a guess it would be Pogoy simply because of his MVP and Chot connection.
Welcome to IBN. I agree somewhat with your lineup, but I'd replace Abando with Newsome as the sure choice, and the 12th man being between Kiefer, Abando, and Oftana. I'm dropping both Pogoy and Thirdy.

Thank you sir IPC! But if you have a hunch or a guess? Who would it be?

I feel a sigh of relief that Clarkson is finally on his way to the Philippines.

That's good enough for me, tbh. I watched their most recent staging last June with collegiate teams playing. Tickets sold for 400.00/head in the lower box section, would probably be 3x now since Gilas would be featured. It was a worthwhile experience.

U must be very impressed with Newsome's defense bro. Besides, Newsome can play some point guard.
