Unfortunately, without JC we won't be a challenge for WC teams. But I think with how Edu's helped our defense, we're a pretty good rim protecting team. Unfortunately, he is a finesse guy and somebody we would not look upon to score in the paint. He needs to practice his perimeter shots more.

I don't see our loss against Senegal as a negative. This is the first time in this preparation that the team has faced a real national team. Well, Senegal is not a World Cup-bound team but this team is still alot stronger than many Asian teams and at par with African teams. Our two games with Senegal will be valuable when we face Angola. We made things close without Jordan Clarkson and that's a very positive sign.

Actually Senegal is way better than Angola… they beat Angola last afrobasket 2021 quarterfinals… only reason that they didn’t qualified because most of their top players not available in most of their qualifying matches that affects their qualifying chances and the unexpected rise of South Sudan… SSD is the reason of why the likes of Nigeria, Senegal and Tunisia didn’t qualified… Angola is lucky that most of their best players are only local base… hence, it’s easy to tap them for most of qualifiers games…

Or maybe because their coaches are respected in international basketball community… coach djorkevic is former Serbian national team coach and he has connections w/ European basketball community… same w/ coach Havess of japan… well even Iran having good quality tune up opponents such as Georgia and Russia

For me, our exhibition games might be fewer at 3 but this covers all our opponents (in simulation).

Senegal = Angola
Montenegro = Italy
Mexico = Dominican Republic

I just hope that Gilas secures atleast one more exhibition game. I prefer Venezuela or Brazil.

If I were in charge.. maybe more focus to beat Italy than DR… DR w/ KAT is more tough to beat than incomplete team of Italy w/o gallinari and no naturalized player in their line up… sbp and chot should accept that Greece offer before and maybe invite low level but quality (to Asian standards) European teams such as Portugal, Switzerland or even Albania…

yep this is another reason, Japan, Iran, Lebanon and China have coaches that are respected by the international basketball community. Heck I think Indonesia could get better sparring partners than Gilas under Vargas, Chot and Panlilio

Syria and UAE isnt better competition especially for a world cup host hehe.. Sayang it would been a convincing win against a non asian team without an np nd no natural pg..

Italy still have respected European talents like Polonara and Melli. I do see how they could be a better matchup than DR. I feel like DR is all in how KAT shows up.

if people watch NBA teams like the Wokves, KAT is known to be a frustrating player who can make dumb low IQ plays and is criticized as not a “winning player”.

I actually love KAT, when I followed the Wolves, and hate fans who hate on him as a player and even person, but from the time I followed the Wolves, he can play at that lackadaisical way that can not be good in FIBA easpeiclaky the WC. If he shows up with weak defense efforts or tries to play like he can play 50% it can lead to a close game against DR.
