Take away Japan's 2 NBA players and we've got a better more balanced lineup especially with their preferences for mediocre NPs ATM. Yet we can't win against Korea consistently and Japan isn't really the same without those 2 NBA players.
Well Asian teams have almost no shot of winning against most Euro teams, Euro system or not except maybe China playing in.. China.

Also, I dont get how Matt inclusion in their NT is a achievement in their development. May I know how?
If we had their system of developing more rounded HS players and funneling talented ones to international programs, we may have had a homegrown NBA player by now.

They were 0 W - 3 D - 12 L before they finally won vs Norway in 1st match... They are only qualified because no one in Oceania playing competitively in womens soccer, Although i'm still proud what Filipinas did... But don't make too proud beating NZL in womens soceer... Let Filipinas do their job first and don't make them overhype...

What in the actual fudge? how is it not impressive at all? I've been following the football scene here in the Philippine for more than a decade and this win is probably one of the greatest achievement the Philippine sport ever had. You have no idea what you're talking. The ladies deserve all the hype.

Again its their development system Im talking about not style of play. With a shallower pool of players they have developed two homegrown NBA players and one homegrown NBL guard. IRC I know they have another homegrown in another good league.

players like this are underrated and don’t get noticed much along causal fans. I feel like Filipino culture doesn’t value this and think it’s all about scoring and looking cute for the girls like Kyrie or Donovan Mitchell getting all the touches.
Even with the best players you need a system and the fundamentals to win. It’s crazy many Filipinos are GS fans, but don’t get why they have been so good for long.
For me, an ideal Filipino player is a 6ft 4 to 6ft6 wing for me is a player with high IQ, plays decent on and off ball defense, can shoot well on and off the ball, playmake, and penetrate inside as well. Someone who plays like a less athletic Mikal Bridges or Harrison Barnes is someone who will elevate this NT to better heights. They can still do with the talent available but they need to value the small things if they want to reach better heights.

I'm just curious why Guo Ailun was left out on the China pool roster. I'm trying to find a news on any social media sites but to no avail.
Is he injured or their new coach don't want him? (Ala Terrence Romeo-Gilas exclusion)

He plays hard, shoots the ball decently, isn’t the best defender but is okay with rotations at the NBA level. In other leagues he is worlds apart. he is similar to someone like Jeff Green on the Nuggets.

Japan and SoKor are rich countries that do not need a rich tycoon to sponsor someone in order to receive the best training in any field of sports , what they lack in natural talent and genetics they compensate it with proper training especially in the youth ranks, now people will say how about african countries why are they able to make it big internationally, this is where sponsors and scouts enter the picture, as african youths has a lot of potential in sports due to their good genetics, while the problem in our country is always self interest, like what i said in my previous post, we do not lack the talent to make it big internationally it is just those who can sponsor would rather see these gems to be with the school or teams they are connected to or like in the case of Kobe Paras who don't need a sponsor as he has a father that has the means to support him but he lacks the mindset and the attitude to continue the grind, if Manny Pacquiao did not take the risk to try it in the US he will not be what he is today being an ATG, and i hope he will try to support someone that is talented enough to make it to the nba as he do not have a school or a team that he needs to satisfy while he is connected with MPBL i think it's not big enough of a league to attract a young prospect who wants to play in the NBA
